If you haven’t read John Reid’s excellent Q&A with Shaquille O’Neal from this Sunday’s Times Picayune, you should do so now. In addition to saying that the next two seasons with the Celtics will be his last two years in the NBA, and that his real goal is to pass Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list, Shaq talked about all the factors he considered before signing with the Celtics – something that caused him to leave $5 million on the table. Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of Glen Davis would be? Well, after he taught us how to Dougie on TwitVid, Big Baby has switched over to Ustream to give us a full view. Some highlights include eating cereal with a huge spoon, wearing a t-shirt turban and a backpack with no shirt on and at least one lip-sync dance session. Need I say more?
If you haven’t been paying attention for the last week and a half, it’s past time now to put Luis Scola on the short list of the best power forwards in the world. (“Not the NBA; the WORLD, Craig!”) The most beastly one-man run of international play we’ve seen since Michael Jordan took on the Monstars continued in yesterday’s battle at the World Championship between Argentina and Brazil, as Scola dropped 37 points (14-20 FG), grabbed 9 rebounds, and iced the game for Argentina down the stretch with one huge bucket after another … Read More »

If you haven’t heard of Isaiah Austin yet, you will.
Only a junior at Grace Prep Academy in Arlington, Texas, Austin has already caught the eye of NBA scouts. Put it this way: If he was able to declare for the NBA Draft today, Jay Bilas would die due to excessive amounts of excitement. Read More »
When Michael Jordan was showing off his plethora of out-of-this-world abilities, you couldn’t help but wonder if he was super-human. And as crazy as it might sound, players in the NBA today are much more athletic, faster and stronger than they were back in the MJ days.
Comparing a lot of these players to the X-Men — the most skilled superheroes in the comic book world and subject of the upcoming X-Men: First Class project — isn’t as farfetched as it might sound. Read More »
After choosing coach Herb Sendek and Arizona State over Washington, UCLA, St. John’s, Oregon State and Arizona two weeks ago, rising senior Jahii Carson of Mesa (Ariz.) High School has been on a lot of people’s minds. For basketball fans on the East Coast, few have ever been able to see him play live. But for those who have, they know it’s electrifying. Check out the 5-11, 160-pound point guard dunking all over his competition this summer.
