We Reminisce: Vince Carter vs. Jalen Rose 87-point shootout
If you think Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao would be a clash of styles, recall this December 2000 shootout between Vince Carter (at the height of “Vinsanity”) and Jalen Rose. On one hand you have Vince’s almost uncontrollable athleticism and bounce; on the other is Jalen’s ground-bound crafty way of getting buckets. But all that matters is that you get the ball in the basket, right? Vince dropped 45 points in this game, while Jalen scored 42 in an often forgotten gem:

Damn I miss that Raptors team. This almost makes me happy that Bosh is gone, because the teams built around Bosh couldn’t hold a candle to those built around Vince (before he became Wince).

thats has got to be the most BORING 9 minutes on youtube. good that they both got buckets and all, but TERRIBLE to watch. even the annoucers seem bored. no excitement in them whatsoever.

Thats why they went out and got Chuck Swirsky for play-by-play. He’s with the bulls doing radio now, but he’s one of the greatest announcers of ALL TIME. Check his shit out on YouTube. We here in Toronto still miss him.
