Blazers ruin Knicks home opener; Derrick Rose destroys Detroit

Brandon Roy

The best thing about Halloween weekend in New York City is that it’s not much different from any other weekend. In and around Madison Square Garden for last night’s Knicks/Blazers game, we saw a 7-foot tall Bert & Ernie tandem, a classy young lady with half of her ass hanging out of a bumblebee suit, and a dude on the subway with blood streaming from his eyes. It could have been any old Saturday in midtown Manhattan … The Blazers’ backcourt ruined the Knicks’ home opener, as Brandon Roy (29 pts) toyed with whoever Mike D’Antoni put on him, and Andre Miller (19 pts, 10 asts, 3 stls) owned the fourth quarter. LeBron, Wade, Bosh Take a Bite Out of Orlando; Rondo makes history

Chris Bosh (photo. David Alvarez)

The Miami Heat are officially ridiculous. Following the letdown loss in Boston and the underwhelming win in Philly, last night’s home opener against Orlando was the true debut of the squad we envisioned when Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James (we want to give Bosh a chance to hear his name called first once in a while) linked up over the summer … Defense was the name of this game. PEAK Mickael Pietrus Player Exclusive

While Jason Williams won’t be playing tonight, hopefully that opens up some minutes for Mickael Pietrus. Jason Williams Suspended For Tonight’s Game

As we told you this morning in Smack, with less than a minute to go in the fourth quarter and up by 30, Jason Williams lost his mind. He was relentlessly complaining to one ref, following him around the court and even grabbing his arm at one point. After multiple warnings, White Chocolate finally got booted. Now he’s suspended without pay for tonight’s game when the Magic face the Miami Heat at American Airlines Arena.
