Jason Maxiell Looking Like The Next Ben Wallace In Detroit

Two years ago, Jason Maxiell agreed to a four-year, $20 million deal to stay in Detroit. And to be honest, he really hasn’t been worth it. Hopefully this year all that will change.

What do you think? How good can Maxiell be in Detroit this year?

I remember when he signed the deal that one of the dime staff put it perferctly saying somthing along the lines of Maxiell is one of those players who is better on a good team.I feel like that was the best assment that could be given.

Totally accurate, he’s like Malik Rose.

When Malik was rockin with the spurs in Duncans hay day everyone was loving his hustle and defence and rebounding.

Not so much after he was moved.

The thing with Max is he’s good when given consistent minutes, but on the other hand he doesn’t do enough in limited minutes to warrant more minutes. Sounds stupid, but when you look at how he finished last season, he played really well when he started at the 5 when Wallace was out.
With Jonas injured, that frees up more minutes for him, and hopefully he’ll make the most of it because Detroit needs as much help as possible up front.

Also, Dime, put up his block on Shannon Brown from last year. That one was better..

not to take anything away from maxiell love his block on allyoopin chandler that was sick and all that but…starting a discussion about him being the next big ben after blocking a guy who can’t jump over a newspaper is just funny
