Shaq Names James Harden This Year’s ‘Shaqtin’ A Fool’ MVP With An Amusing Video

James Harden finally won an MVP award! Unfortunately, it’s probably not the one he had hoped for.

Shaquille O’Neal unveiled his selection for the 2016 “Shaqtin’ A Fool” MVP this week and the honor went to the bearded Houston Rockets guard. The announcement was made in a pretty amusing segment in which some of Harden’s most boneheaded plays from the past year were spliced together and put on full display for all to laugh at.

Also included were reactions from several of Harden’s peers from around the league, including Draymond Green, Danny Green, Kevin Love and more. There was a wide variety of responses to the news, including players who thought that Harden definitely deserved Shaq’s less-than-prestigious award and those who believed Harden deserved more respect.

Harden is certainly a great player, but, as we’ve seen plenty of times, he’s been known to do things on the court that make fans shake their head every now and again. This is especially true when he’s on the defensive side of the ball, as the video package shows.

It’s probably not the hardware he was hoping to take home this season, but he can add it to the resumé nonetheless. Congratulations to James Harden, the NBA’s 2016 “Shaqtin’ A Fool” MVP.
