In the same week that the Blazers learned Greg Oden will miss the rest of the season due to another knee surgery, the Rockets found out their injury-prone franchise center, Yao Ming, will miss (at least) another two weeks due to a bone bruise in his ankle.
Yao has been out since Nov. 10, when he hurt his ankle early in Houston’s loss to the Wizards. He was originally slated to miss about one week, but now his return date has been pushed back. Read More »

I don’t have to tell you that there is definitely a spectrum when it comes to NBA players. Some guys will sign autographs, shake hands and kiss babies, and others, well, they prefer their privacy. The basketball legend of Chris Paul really began in 2002, when as a high school senior, Paul scored 61 points in one game to honor his grandfather, who had been killed just days beforehand. The Mariners are coming off another 100-loss season. U of Washington football has to run the table to make a bowl game (any bowl game). And the Sonics … oh yeah.
So the fact that Felix Hernandez won the AL Cy Young this week was kind of a big deal back home. Having watched as many M’s games as I could — especially Hernandez’s starts — I felt King Felix was/is the best pitcher in the game. Read More »
