Buy Low, Sell High: Fantasy Week 5

Dwyane Wade

Buy Low: Dwyane Wade has been a nightmare (in the bad way) lately. He’s banged up and his numbers have been downright ugly during the past week or so. That said, when the Heat find a groove and once Wade heals up a bit, he should find his way back into top-15 status. He’s the definition of a buy-low player this week. Read More »

First Look: LeBron’s New Logo

First Look: LeBron's New Logo

We all knew this was bound to happen, considering his old logo had the No. 23 in it, but we didn’t know when. Now we do. During last night’s NBC Person of the Year interview with Matt Lauer, LeBron James wore a Nike polo shirt with his new logo on it. Check it out. Read More »

Josh Smith, Blake Griffin dunk all over the Turkey Day competition

Josh Smith

Unlike Christmas Day and its superstar-overload schedule, the NBA picked Thanksgiving weekend to give some of the lesser-knowns some shine, with a national TV schedule only an NBA League Pass connoisseur could fully appreciate. Last night you (hopefully) awoke from your turkey-induced coma to catch Hawks/Wizards and Clippers/Kings, and tonight it’s Rockets/Bobcats and Warriors/Grizzlies … Down in Atlanta, John Wall and Gilbert Arenas’ first real game as a starting backcourt was one to forget. Kevin Durant: Your Favorite NBA Player’s Favorite Player

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has always been a big-stage performer. He just needs the stage. So when no members of the Redeem Team suited up for Team USA at the World Championship this summer, Durant took full advantage of his opportunity to become basketball’s leading man. Now as his fourth NBA season is underway and he leads the League in scoring (again) — averaging 28.3 points per game through the Oklahoma City Thunder’s first 15 games — the 22-year-old occupies rarified air as perhaps the best player on the planet. Kemba Walker, UConn’s Best Days Could Be Ahead Of Them

College basketball analysts and experts love teams with experience. A team full of seniors represents the ultimate college basketball team for many. The Connecticut Huskies, however, are defying the odds.

Led by New York native Kemba Walker, the Huskies have shown what they are capable of at the Maui Invitational by knocking off Michigan State and Kentucky. Their supporting cast consists of Alex Oriakhi, Charles Okwandu, Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, Donnell Beverly, and five freshmen. Read More »

It’s A Fantasy Thanksgiving: Turkeys and Gratitude

LeBron James

The glorious day of feasting we call Thanksgiving is upon us, which means it’s time to pause and reflect on the players that fantasy owners should be thankful for so far this season. But before we get into all that feel-good stuff, let’s list the players that have gobbled their way to turkey (i.e., bust) status with nearly a fifth of the 2010-11 NBA regular season in the books. Deron Williams

Beast of the Night: Deron Williams stepped up and churned out 26 points, 3 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals in a victory over Chris Paul and the Hornets. He hit four threes, shot 50 percent (9-18) from the field, 100 percent (4-4) from the line and had five turnovers. While his field-goal percentage and assists are down from last season’s marks, and though his turnovers have crept up, Williams remains a fantasy stud that his owners are surely thankful for.
