Battle For The NBA’s Best Point Guard Tonight: CP3 vs. D-Will

While most of the Dime crew will be at MSG tonight while LeBron and the Heat take on the Knicks, AP will be hitting up the Jazz/Hornets game down in New Orleans. And could he ask for a better point guard matchup? Here are the stats this season: Chris Paul (16.2 points, 9.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 steals) vs. Deron Williams (23.0 points, 9.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals). Who wins?

If you could only have one, who would you choose?

Same guy that wins every time. Deron Williams.

  2. Cp3sucks says:

Chris Paul always loses. He isnt better than Deron Williams. Only better at punching guys in the balls

Depends on the team I put around him tho. If I wanted an uptempo team with say the knicks, prolly cp3, if I wanted a half court tea, prolly d-will. D-will is a lot better on ball defender so the strength would be man to man where cp3 is better in a zone, where his size won’t be as exploited and he can jump passing lanes…cp3 is grittier while d-will is stronger.

    @chaos,

i don’t think it’s fair to say CP3 will run an uptempo team better than DWill because we never had a chance to see DWill run a team in that style. playing for jerry sloan means DWill had to fit his game into that structured play. i would make the argument that it is harder to play in a structured system because there are more restrictions and less freedom than run and gun at will. it is amazing to me that in a system that mandates structure, dwill can put up these numbers…

on the other hand, i don’t know if CP3 can survive under sloan…

anyone else not terribly impressed with the mins CP3 gave the redeem team a few summers back? he was sloppy with the ball and didn’t add much value (it seemed to me). i was shocked becuz i think the guy is a player …

If it wasn’t my boy birthday i would have been at the game to with AP

  7. Mo says:

    CP3. Both are great though.

  8. Mo says:

    Deron Williams is better….

at turning the ball over and giving police false names.

  9. Thestradiosmiles says:

Looks like D-Will didn’t even bother showing up. Weak, I was expecting his A-Game for sure…

Chris Paul didn’t really need to dominate for his team to get the easy win, still ended up with the double-double plus 7 boards.

When hes healthy, Chris Paul is the better player. Not taking anything from dwills.. hes a beast of a player and do think hes underrated

  12. QQ says:

We’re talking bout RIGHT NOW right? Deron Williams no question. there was an article like this about 2 weeks ago and I said CP3. Now it’s D-Will…. NO DOUBT.

  13. Mo says:

DWill without a doubt? There is very much damn doubt. LMAO.

  14. willdc says:

D-Rose is better than both, but Paul is second
