Happy Birthday, Larry Bird!

Larry Bird

While December 7, 1941 was a terrible day for our country, December 7, 1956 was a tremendous day for the game of basketball as it marks the day the Legend was born. Larry Bird turned 54 years old today. Hard to believe it’s been 18 years since his last game and 31 years since he and Magic Johnson entered the League together. Read More »

Ranking the NBA’s 30 Go-To Guys (#7: Kevin Durant)

Kevin Durant

Who do you want your offense to run through with the game on the line? Counting down from 30th to 1st (one per team), I’ve ranked the League’s go-to guys…

KEVIN DURANT, Oklahoma City Thunder To be honest, had I stuck to my plan of completing this go-to guy countdown before the beginning of the season, Durant would have fallen into the 4th-5th place range. Read More »

Deron Williams Breaks Greivis Vasquez’s Ankles

Yes, if you watch closely, Deron Williams actually steps on Greivis Vasquez‘s foot, but the damage was already done. If this was Mortal Combat, he was just finishing him. After seeing this ankle-breaker from a few weeks ago, I can’t wait to see D-Will face Brandon Jennings and the Bucks again next week.

Dime Q&A: Duke’s Kyrie Irving Could Be One Of The Best Ever

It is hard to imagine a freshman having a better start to his career than Kyrie Irving. The Duke point guard has already held preseason All-America Jacob Pullen to 1-of-12 shooting, dished off nine assists in a game twice and had a 31-point explosion against the then-No. 6 team in the country that practically had Dick Vitale at a loss for words. Dime #61: Chris Paul Tells His Side of the Story

Dime #61: Chris Paul Tells His Side of the Story

I feel like I’ve grown up at Dime alongside Chris Paul.

In the summer of 2005, I landed in New York City for the first time, a brand-new college grad in town for an interview about a full-time job. Days earlier, I was told, brand-new NBA Draft pick Chris Paul had sat in the same Dime Magazine office I did, making the media rounds and doing interviews for his first foray into the professional ranks. Fantasy Doctor, NBA / Dec 7, 2010 / 10:00 am

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.7

Beast of the Night: Kevin Love didn’t notch another 31/31, but he still managed to put up a pretty decent line against the Knicks. He finished with 33 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and made three three-pointers last night. Love shot 56 percent (10-18) from the field and 100 percent (10-10) from the line, and managed to avoid turning the ball over. His huge game against the Knicks back on Nov. 12 was the turning point of his season and Love’s owners have been enjoying quite a ride since then. Read More »
