Air Jordan 2011: Design Inspiration
This morning I got to try out the new Air Jordan 2011 on the floor of Madison Square Garden. And they felt great! Now that you’ve seen the shoes, watch designers Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield discuss the inspiration behind the design of the shoe.
What do you think?

Ok ok ok ok.
Is anyone else having trouble figuring out the difference between the “quick” and “explosive” inserts? “For the quick player, we put in some extra cushioning. And for the explosive player, we put in some extra cushioning.”
Seems very “The Emperor’s Clothes” to me.
Also, what’s the point of having leather on your shoes? Don’t a lot of people want shoes to be as light as possible, i.e. no leather? So random. Seems like a gimmick, and since leather is perceived to be a luxury item, it’s just a gimmick to make the shoe more expensive.
Thoughts?

Yeah so why did DWade wear the 2011s on Xmas Day vs the Lakers in the FIRST QUARTER and go BACK to the 2010s the rest of the way?

@dagwaller ~ good points and agreed its all just a gimmick, i mean does this mean the shoes will actually last longer than 6 months of wear and tear?
i love to see what tinker produces, but see this as the cliched “western” profit machine making the “eastern” sweat shops work even harder.
