This morning I got to try out the new Air Jordan 2011 on the floor of Madison Square Garden. And they felt great! Now that you’ve seen the shoes, watch designers Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield discuss the inspiration behind the design of the shoe.
It seemed no NBA player was hit harder by LeBron James signing with Miami last summer than Mo Williams. The point guard who came to Cleveland with visions of winning championships alongside LeBron and became an All-Star with the Cavs admitted that he contemplated retirement after LeBron chose to leave, then didn’t speak to his former teammate for a couple of months following “The Decision.” Read More »
Missed out on a Three Goggles t-shirt? Don’t worry, the Blazers have your back. For tonight’s game against the Celtics, anyone with $3.00 in their pocket can stop by the Fan Shop and pick up some Three Goggles glasses. Inspired by the creativity of Blazer fans who began making their own goggles, don’t miss out on your chance to floss like Patty Mills, Rudy Fernandez and Nicolas Batum in the Rose Garden. (And sorry, but these are available in-arena only.) Read More »
Now that you’ve seen the Air Jordan 2011, and the first three colorways slated to drop, it’s time to check out the Air Jordan 2011 “Year Of The Rabbit”. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit – the same sign that Michael Jordan was born under in 1963. And to celebrate Chinese New Year, this special edition of the shoe is outfitted with a special Grey/Red-Gold colorway representing good luck and happiness to all. Read More »
Remember Kevin Durant? Before Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire and all things Miami Heat stole your attention this NBA season, Durant was the hottest topic in basketball. Depending on whose preseason predictions you listened to, KD was going to average 35 points a night, lead the Thunder to the Finals, cop league MVP, and beat the Monstars 1-on-5 in the Space Jam sequel. This was his year for the taking. Read More »
Last night, in what was being billed as the “biggest game in Mountain West Conference history,” No. 4 San Diego State visited No. 9 BYU. Really though, it was SDSU vs. The Jimmer Fredette Show on a nationally-televised televised stage. The man did not disappoint, shooting off the collective faces of the Aztecs to the tune of 43 points (and that was even with him going long stretches without scoring).
It takes a lot to overshadow a 31-point, 21-rebound effort by Kevin Love in his own gym, but Kevin Durant did it last night by dropping 47 points (15-28 FG, 13-14 FT) on the T-Wolves to go with 18 boards and OKC’s game-winning bucket in overtime … In the opening minutes of the game, it looked like Corey Brewer was going to give KD a battle — he was in Durant’s shirt defensively and threw down a couple of momentum-building dunks on the other end — but once Durant got rolling, Brewer might as well have been wearing a traffic cone costume. The Utah Jazz are struggling. Last night’s 29-point loss to the Lakers was the team’s 5th straight defeat, and while Deron Williams and Co. are still only a game and a half behind the Thunder in the Northwest Division, they have dropped to 6th place in the Western Conference.
Utah could use a little help going into tonight’s tip-off with the West-leading Spurs (ESPN, 9:30 p.m. EST). Last time I looked, Karl Malone and John Stockton are both in pretty good shape and wouldn’t need to re-learn the playbook, but Jerry Sloan will probably explore some other options first.
