Kentucky’s Brandon Knight Gets Epic Dunk Denied at the Rim
There were a bunch of standout plays in the wild game between Ole Miss / Kentucky last night, but maybe none more impressive than Reginald Buckner’s swat on Brandon Knight’s serious dunk attempt (one of five blocks for Buckner on the night).
Make no mistake, if Buckner doesn’t take care of business here, Knight pulls off a dunk for the ages.

Buckner is the high school leader in shots blocked in the state of Tennessee. This does not surprise anyone that saw him in high school. What does surprise me is the poor job of coaching Reggie Buckner that Kennedy is doing. In high school Reggie was a 6-9 Point Forward, who ran the point for very long minutes during the game and drained threes and had a hell of a midrange game. He could also dominate in the post which helped him lead Manassas high school to state. He was very underrecruited because he did not play on a high profile travel team until his senior year. Reggie, and I don’t say this lightly, could have been a one and done in the right situation. However because Kennedy did not recruit a standout big, Reggie has been bulked up and made to play center. I don’t know if he will be consider and NBA prospect because of this, but if he ever has a chance to get out on the wing or run the show everyone will see a completely different Ole Miss, not a 2-5 in the SEC Ole Miss.
