John Wall to Blake Griffin: The most creative alley-oop of 2011

On his way to 22 assists in last night’s Rookie Challenge, MVP John Wall set up crowd favorite Blake Griffin with some AND 1 mixtape flavor. (Thanks to reader Layzie for remining me that this wasn’t the “best” alley-oop of the year — that would be D-Wade‘s 90-footer to LeBron. All-Star makes us all a little over-hyped.)

  2. Layzie says:

  3. Pugz says:

I disagree about lebron and wade’s… this was much better.

THIS IS THE BEST IN GAME ALLEY I SEEN IN A WHILE .. F lebron to wade that shit wasnt all that.. I saw the same play last night (don rememebr who to who) but the only diff was they didnt lay it up in 1 motion..

  5. AirKaris says:

if lebron had of dunked it, maybe… wall/griffin was way more entertaining. but that’s what that game is about – 2 very different situations.

  6. yoda says:

nice one. reminds me of stuff jason williams used to do back in sacto days

  7. brokejumper says:

Why was it Kevin Mchale asking him to do the dougie?

  8. Dagger says:

Are you guys honestly comparing an exhibition game play to a play in the middle of a tightly contested regular season game?

    That said: this was incredible.

  9. !!! says:

@dagger your right!!! that game don’t have defense

  10. kaboom says:

impressive but i’ll go with wade and bron2x

  11. dagwaller says:

Do we take points away from Bron/Wade for it being a layup? A nasty play for sure, but if we’re penalizing Wall/Griffin for it being in an All-Star, let’s be fair.

Isiah Thomas did the same thing about 20 years ago during a regular season game. Only difference was the guy dunking it (Gerald Glass I think?) rattled the dunk in which deducted some cool points. Still, amazing pass by Wall there.

    Found Zeke’s pass on youtube – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEeBLc5c0Nc

@DJ Leon Smith Great Find! I nearly forgot about that play, that was in game too and to a no namer. Isiah Thomas > John Wall.
