Now that Deron Williams isn’t around to pass them the ball, you have to wonder how many Utah Jazz players are envisioning themselves in another uniform. For some of them, it may not be a choice they get to make.
According to ESPN, the Jazz aren’t actively looking to blow their team up and rebuild mid-season, but they are “listening for offers for everyone.” Read More »
Yesterday, Hakim Warrick though he came up with a great, original idea: A new version of Wiz Khalifa‘s “Black and Yellow” called “STAT and ‘Melo.” While it’s important to note that other versions of this song already existed well before the trade, the version below is the best to date. Also, this track is recorded by the rapper Judge, who is signed to Stoudemire’s record label, Hypocalypto. For those interested, you can also download the song HERE.
The Hornets have agreed to trade reserve two-guard Marcus Thornton to the Kings for forward Carl Landry.
Landry averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds after coming to Sacramento in a deadline deal with Houston last year, but this season his production has dipped to 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 26 minutes a night. For the non-stars, securing a job in the NBA is all about identifying your niche. Nate Robinson had defied the odds — there are people in the Dime office today who, years ago, said Nate would be playing in Greece by now — by finding that niche, a point-slash-shooting guard off the bench for a team that needs instant offense and change-of-pace energy.

There’s a lot going on with this curveball, so grab your White Russian, lift it in honor of the shrewd Mikhail Prokhorov and read on for a quick assessment of the fantasy fallout. Read More »
Since taking over as owner of the Nets back in May, Mikhail Prokhorov has desperately tried to make the team relevant. He flew in his private jet to recruit LeBron James this summer, had dinner with Carmelo Anthony at All-Star Weekend and put up his “Blueprint for Greatness” billboard across the street from Madison Square Garden. Up until today, all those attempts had failed to come across as anything more than excessive bravado that wasn’t paying off. No stars came (or wanted to come) to New Jersey, but now Prokhorov has finally followed through, and at least made the Nets worth talking about again with the acquisition of Deron Williams. If you liked the Amar’e Stoudemire, Rudy Gay or Brandon Roy version of the Nike Air Max Fly By, you should check out this version personalized for Blake Griffin. Between the Clippers colors and his “BG32″ signature logo embellished on the upper strap, these might be my favorite yet. Read More »
