I felt like I needed to be cloned to hit up everything going down in L.A. during All-Star Weekend. From games to parties to appearances, there wasn’t a free second to be had. So for those of you that weren’t able to make the trip, I wanted to give you an inside-look into that world. With that, check out what Nike Sportswear put together for Los Fearless on Hollywood and Vine: Read More »
The story doesn’t begin on Saturday night. It doesn’t end there, either. But it’s where we have to start.
Saturday night, in a darkened gym on the darkest night he had ever known, the boy shot jumpers for hours. First his coach found him. Then the assistant coach came at midnight. All they could do was rebound for him. Rebound and let the healing take its course. Read More »
Hours before yesterday’s trade went down, Carmelo Anthony visited Conan to talk about everything but the deal, including his love of fashion, Snuggies and Denver (omelettes that is).
After months of speculation, we can purge ourselves and our Twitter feeds of the nauseating(ly named) “Melodrama.” Late Monday night, a big-time three-team deal took place that finally sent Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks, among other things. There are many cogs to this machine, the trade is awaiting league approval, and the wheeling and dealing for some of these players isn’t done yet, but here’s a quick look at what we can expect in the aftermath from a fantasy perspective. After just getting back from L.A. on the red-eye early this morning, we’ve still got some highlights for you from All-Star Weekend. With that, check out the NBA’s all-access look at each night of the weekend’s main events.
Now that the deed is done, there’s one lingering question: While the Knicks certainly got better overnight by trading for Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups to form a Big Three with Amar’e Stoudemire, did they improve their standing in the Eastern Conference at all? Finally. After months of rumors and hypotheticals and non-answers, Carmelo Anthony has been traded to the New York Knicks.

Sometimes it’s so simple that we get caught up over-thinking, trying to find the complicated part.
According to rumors and reports far and wide, the New York Knicks have a chance to acquire Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups this week, and all it would cost them is a point guard who isn’t as good as Billups, a small forward who isn’t as good as ‘Melo, a borderline starter/backup swingman, and a draft pick that won’t be made for another three years. And maybe it will cost them a 7-foot rookie whose NBA highlights so far include destroying the Pistons one time and getting Blake Griffin‘s palm-print on the back of his head. And why hasn’t this happened yet? Read More »
Part of me wanted to invent this as a rumor that I heard from “sources close to the situation” and see how many people believed it, but instead I’ll present it truthfully as just an idea that made sense to me:
Lakers get: Brook Lopez, Troy Murphy
Nets get: Andrew Bynum
Financially, it works. But why would either team do it? Read More »
