One of the interesting subplots of the second half of the season for the Thunder will be whether or not they can create enough offense to win and go deep in the playoffs. After going for 56 points in the first half, the Thunder scored just 31 in the second as the Lakers clamped down on Oklahoma City’s big guns. With the trade of Jeff Green, Oklahoma City’s rotation now really only has three guys that are considered “offensive” players: Durant, Russell Westbrook and Harden. Plus, neither Durant nor Westbrook are naturally great at setting up their teammates. That’s why as long as they roll with this lineup, they are going to struggle to consistently get buckets. A guy who might see an increase in minutes? Daequan Cook, who hit three treys yesterday afternoon … Grant Hill went (34 points) retro on us last night in Phoenix’s win over the Pacers. But the big story was Channing Frye‘s buzzer-beating jump shot to win the game, which came just after he nearly blew the W with a stupid defensive foul on the other end … Other headlines from around the League: Kevin Love (37 points, 23 rebounds) went wild in Minnesota’s three-point win over the Warriors. That’s his fourth 30-20 game this season, tied for the second-most in a season in the last 25 years (Shaq had five back in ’99-’00); Philadelphia got over the .500 hump for the first time this season in their win at Cleveland; Dwight Howard (20 points, 10 rebounds) and Orlando beat up on Charlotte; Dallas blew out the Raptors by 18 as Dirk Nowitzki (31 points, 13 rebounds) had a big night; Manu Ginobili (35 points) and the Spurs barely held off the Grizzlies in their seven-point win; and Atlanta outlasted the Blazers by seven behind Jamal Crawford (23 points) … We’re out like Bill Walker in the clutch.
