We Reminisce: LaPhonso Ellis’ Monster Block is Better Than JaVale McGee’s
After the talk of JaVale McGee‘s elimination of a Wes Matthews baseline drive in today’s Smack (you can see it here), one of our loyal readers, DJ Leon Smith, reminded us of this piece of work from LaPhonso Ellis back in the day:
For my money, I’ll LaPhonso’s block. Ellis only goes 6-8, and was never really known as a sick athlete, while McGee is a freakishly athletic seven-footer who just competed (well) in the Slam Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend in L.A. Plus, LaPhonso’ s post-block mean mugging is better.
What’s the best block you’ve ever seen?

You’re not lying. He’d block, dunk, and rebound all day. He was athletic as hell.
