Sneak Peek: 2011 NBA Draft Caps

2011 NBA Draft Caps

When I think of the NBA Draft, three things come to mind: 1) Becoming a millionaire, 2) Shaking hands with David Stern, and 3) Putting on the hat of the team that selected you. (Yes Kobe, you were drafted by the Hornets.) And last night at the Lottery, I was able to sneak some pictures of the 2011 NBA Draft Cap from adidas – the first authentic piece of team apparel a player receives after being drafted. Check ‘em out: Read More »

New York’s Search For A Franchise Point Guard

Josh Selby

The Knicks weren’t in the lottery last night, but they might have benefited from the happenings anyways. Now that Cleveland is set with the top overall selection, and almost assuredly will take Kyrie Irving, it leaves them with a logjam at point guard. They have starter Baron Davis, Irving if he’s selected and also Ramon Sessions, who started 38 games for the Cavs last year while averaging 13.3 points and 5.2 assists a game. Read More »

And So It Begins: Dime’s NBA Draft Diary With Isaiah Thomas

Isaiah Thomas

After leading Washington to back-to-back conference titles in the Pac-10 Tournament over the last two seasons, junior Isaiah Thomas (who also claimed back-to-back conference MOP honors in those same title runs) decided the time was right to test his talents on another level: the NBA. During his time in Seattle, the 5-9 guard was nothing short of an offensive force. After averaging 16.9 points and 3.9 assists a game as a sophomore, he returned this season to drop 16.8 and 6.1 per and navigate UW to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCAA Tournament. And as the kid embarks on his journey away from college and into the pros, we wanted to give him his own space, and voice, to roam. So, follow along with Isaiah on his Dime NBA Draft Diary; here’s his first entry… Read More »

Nike Zoom KD III – Scoring Champ Edition (Road)

Nike Zoom KD III

Sure everyone’s talking about Dirk Nowitzki‘s performance last night, but let’s no forget what Kevin Durant did in the losing effort. Try 40 points on 10-of-18 shooting (18-of-19 from the line), along with eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal. He was the reason the game was close in the fourth quarter. With that, check out the special Scoring Champ Edition of his signature Nike Zoom KD III that he wore last night. Maybe it was the shoes? Read More »

Behind The Scenes At The NBA Draft Lottery

NBA Draft Lottery

Yesterday was one of my favorite days of the year. No, it wasn’t my birthday or the night I bet my buddy that Dirk Nowitzki would go H.A.M. Rather, last night was the 27th annual NBA Draft Lottery at the NBA Entertainment Studios in Secaucus, N.J. (And if you know me, it takes a special occasion to willingly travel across the river.) With Commissioner David Stern in the house along with representatives from the 12 teams in the Lottery, go behind the scenes to relive the experience. Read More »

Northern Colorado’s Devon Beitzel Is “Little Jimmer” No More

Devon Beitzel

With the order now set and the NBA Draft looming in June, prospects across the nation are gearing up for team workouts, combines and camps to workout in front of NBA scouts. But while most are hell bent on making it to the League, others are trying to carve out a professional space elsewhere. And for Northern Colorado senior Devon Beitzel, just having the option to continue his hoops career is a blessing in itself. Read More »

Miami’s Udonis Haslem: “I Have To Get Minutes”

Udonis Haslem

Imagine if you were on a team, lobbying for more playing time, and were asked, “Well, what have you done to earn it?” Right now, Miami’s Udonis Haslem would have to say “Um, in seven playoff minutes so far, I haven’t scored a point, and haven’t grabbed a rebound.”

But with Miami trailing Chicago 1-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals, and their situation becoming increasingly dire (no one has a clue what they’ll do about the rebounding problems), Haslem says he’s ready and hoping for more time. Read More »

Dirk Nowitzki Goes David Hasselhoff On Serge Ibaka

It’s hard to pick just one play from Dirk Nowitzki‘s epic 48-point performance from last night, but this spin move on Serge Ibaka is as good as any.

Everyone In The World Wouldn’t Have Stopped Dirk…

Dirk Nowitzki

Dirk Nowitzki is kind of a decent player. We can give him that because we already used up pretty much every adjective, verb, adverb, noun, clause, subject-predicate, picture, sentence, word ever associated with the English language to describe his 48-point performance on 12-for-15 from the field and 24-for-24 from the line (an NBA playoff record by the way) in the Mavs’ 121-112 Game 1 win over Oklahoma City. That boy is a bad man. So much for rustRead More »

Dime NBA Mock Draft: Cleveland Snags The Top Pick, And Probably Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving

Following tonight’s NBA Draft Lottery at the NBA Entertainment studio in Secaucus, New Jersey, now we can begin to get an idea of how the rest of the draft will play out after the top spot. This is the first of many Dime mock drafts leading up to June 23. As usual, it’s a combination of what we think teams should do and what we think they will do: Read More »
