This is it. The final four. Winning time. Legacies are on the line (Dirk). Some are working for a name (KD, Westbrook, Rose). The dark side is looking for redemption (LeBron, Wade).
If you checked out Mike & Mike in the Morning earlier this week, you might’ve heard them rating the six superstars still left in the playoffs (Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Durant & Russell Westbrook). Who’s been the best in the playoffs? Read More »
Who doesn’t want to be Mars Blackmon? In March it was Blake Griffin; now it’s Playboy Playmate Francesca Frigo (Miss August 2010). Watch as Frigo puts a spin on the classic commercial in a teaser for Playboy’s forthcoming feature on the top 23 Air Jordans of all time. It’s gotta be the shoes…
All it took was the magical luck of Nick Gilbert to fluster David Kahn. Rumors indicate that the Minnesota GM is shopping the No. 2 pick, with the Indiana Pacers and Danny Granger headlining a possible deal. Considering the practical, on-the-court rotational concerns, a trade is not illogical. Assuming Kyrie Irving is taken first overall by the Cavs, the small forward spot that Derrick Williams would play is already occupied by Wesley Johnson and Martell Webster. Enes Kanter, on the other hand, might fit. While he may be an athletic replica of Kevin Love, he’s the true low post bruiser, offensively and defensively, that Love might never become. Operating out of the high post and slithering out to the three-point line through the pick and pop suits Love best. Read More »
I don’t blame you if you don’t know who Eric Koston is. I mean, you wouldn’t be coming to DimeMag.com to read about the latest and greatest in skateboarding. But as you’ve seen in the past from Nike, they do a great job at bridging the gap and connecting different worlds with out-the-box collaborations. This is no different. In celebration of Koston’s first Nike SB signature shoe, the Nike SB Zoom Eric Koston 1, the longtime Lakers fan has teamed up with Kobe Bryant to bring you the Kobe x Koston. Read More »
Sometimes it’s age. Often it’s losing. But this year, it was a combination of a lot of things, like injury, boredom and Derrick Rose‘s MVP takeover. Now, he has a new one from someone younger and far more athletic. Read More »
Apparently winning Rookie of the Year and becoming an All-Star weren’t enough for Blake Griffin this season. He wants more. So in-between offseason workouts, Blake found himself camping outside of the id Software offices in Dallas making his case to land a role in their new game, RAGE. And what better way to show how much you want it than dunking over a tiger.
By now we all know what went down in the 4th quarter of last night’s Thunder/Mavs game (if you need a refresher on the drama, GO HERE).
We just want to know one thing from our readers: Did Scott Brooks do the right thing by benching Russell Westbrook in the 4th quarter of last night’s game?
Tell us what you think in the comments section below and we will post the best/most interesting responses on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
We used to think the best part of James Harden was his beard. Not anymore. Not with the way he helped spearhead a huge 106-100 Game 2 win for the Thunder by scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter. After a first game that saw Dallas’ bench chew up the Thunder reserves, it looks like someone took it upon himself to make things right. Actually they all took it personal. Nick Collison (six points, seven rebounds), Eric Maynor (13 points), Daequan Cook (eight points) and most importantly Harden (23 points, seven rebounds, four treys) all contributed. Read More »
Wow. Kevin Garnett turned 35 years old today. I feel so old. While he’s made some enemies in the last few years, when KG hangs ‘em up in about four or five years (most people close to him believe he’s still got a lot left), I’ll remember Da Kid and The Big Ticket, the MVP season and all of the boyish intensity he had back in the day.
