Dime Q&A: Jon Diebler’s Honeymoon On Hold For The NBA Draft

Jon Diebler

The Ohio State Buckeyes have seen their fair share of players leave college early for the NBA Draft during the past few years, but if there was anything consistent on the roster, it had to have been Jon Diebler. Nicknamed 3-bler for his sweet long-range shooting stroke, Diebler used all four years of his college eligibility to set the Buckeye record for career three-pointers made.

Now, Diebler is making his case for an NBA career. But first, he had to get married. Read More »

Team Dime Wins Their First Game At The Chosen League In Philly

The Chosen League

If you play basketball and are from Philly, then chances are you know about The Chosen League. Founded by Rahim Thompson in 2002, well over 1,000 players have participated in the free summer league for high school student-athletes, with over 60 players going on to play Division I basketball. This summer, we decided to get our Fat Joe on and sponsor a team, with last night being our first game against Watch Dog Music. Here’s what went down… Read More »

NBA 2K11 Video Game Mock Draft

NBA 2k

They say that kids grow out of video games. Well I don’t know who “they” is, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was never good enough to play the game professionally (or collegiately, for that matter), but that never prevented me from submerging myself in all things basketball. So I follow it, I write about it, I breathe it. I even live vicariously through basketball animations in NBA 2K11.

Yesterday I learned that parents are wrong – video games can be educational. Read More »

John Wall To Wesley Matthews: The NBA Draft Through The Eyes Of The Players

Ben Gordon

This is around the time you hear all the stories, all the cliches. This is the moment I’ve been working for…I’ve dreamed about this my whole life…I can’t wait to just get to work, I don’t care who picks me…They are all true, but cliche nonetheless. The NBA Draft is a big night, and it’ll shape many young careers. Transcendent players will be spectacular no matter what. But what about those other guys? Guys who fit well in one system but might struggle in another? Read More »

Dime Q&A: Jordan Williams Talks NBA Draft & Greivis Vasquez

Jordan Williams

Most of the time college and NBA analysts disagree, but there is one thing that most can garner a consensus about: the fact that rebounding is usually the skill that translates best from college to the pros. With that being true, former Maryland forward Jordan Williams is in great shape. Williams established himself as one of nation’s best rebounders as a freshman in 2009-10 as the second-leading rebounder in the ACC. This past year he averaged over 11 rebounds per game, good enough for third in the nation, to go along with 16 points for the Terrapins. I caught up with Williams at the Nets’ workouts last week to talk about rebounding, Greivis Vasquez and McDonald’s. Read More »

If You Really Want To Rise: LeBron James & Kobe Bryant

We’re back to this again? While there hasn’t been quite the fervor yet for the following commercial mashup, let us be clear: this was not done by Nike nor Wieden+Kennedy. And furthermore, it was not Kobe Bryant‘s response to LeBron James. It was created by Ivan Kwan. With that said, check it out below and then click after the jump to see both of the ads in their original state.

Dime Exclusive: Inside The Mind Of The Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors

Remember last fall when new Warriors owner Joe Lacob, fresh off writing the biggest check in NBA history, hired his son Kirk, a 22-year-old Stanford grad, as Golden State’s Director of Basketball Operations? Just eight months later, the younger Lacob has finished his first season in professional basketball management, including a thrilling (albeit unyielding) trade deadline, the firing and hiring of a new coach and an interview with The Logo himself. This week’s draft however, might be his biggest challenge yet. Read More »
