For all the Minnesota, David Kahn and PG jokes, take a look at their roster. They have a TON of talent at the forward positions. Some of it may never pan out, some of it is a little wild, but there is young potential there nonetheless.
Which is why the Wolves spent the past few weeks looking for really anyone to hit them with a decent trade offer for the No. 2 pick. They knew Kyrie Irving would go No. 1 and that Derrick Williams was basically being forced onto their hands. Read More »

The media doesn’t often come to a consensus, but regarding this year’s NBA Draft class, there seems to be widespread agreement: it blows. From bloggers to radio show hosts to television pundits, everyone is saying this could be the weakest draft class in years.
“I tend to think that there’s so much media out there that there’s no way we’re going to think just one way,” says basketball analyst Jay Bilas. “Sometimes it pays to be contrarian in the media. [But] you just don’t hear the contrary view this year.” Read More »

The enigma of the entire draft. At first, we thought Jan Vesely, the Wizards’ pick at No. 6, was a mack for the way he smooched his girl on camera. Then, Fran told us he’d win a dunk contest someday so we were convinced he was a player. Then, his interview came up and he seemed either extra nervous or completely lost. Finally, we have this picture which is easily the photo of the night. Read More »

After all the rumors, all the trade speculation, all the gossip, our biggest trade of the day came before the draft even started. Yes, we figured Kyrie Irving would go No. 1, followed by Derrick Williams and then after that, all bets were off because the prospect level just wasn’t that good. But we wanted moves. That’s what a bad draft guaranteed us right? Read More »

Two twins back-to-back? Awesome. Houston seems to do really well with turning PFs into players. They do it all the time, whether it’s Luis Scola, Chuck Hayes or Carl Landry. Morris was considered the better player of the two twins, and wasn’t supposed to fall this far. Read More »

This seems like a really Phoenix pick. For the last three or four years, the Suns have been trying to get bigger but always seem to end up with guys who are big, but might not be real difference-makers. At the same time, Markieff Morris will bang and work hard inside. Read More »

Alec Burks, as they say, has an NBA game. He is an athlete that can get buckets, and knows how to use the bounce. He is a legit 6-6 and is one of the best two-guard prospects Utah has had in a long time. That’s been a position of need for them for a while and now they might’ve filled it. Read More »

Jerry West got his man. We’ve been hearing for weeks that Klay Thompson was the guy West really wanted. He likes big guards and Thompson is a legit 6-7. He can shoot and could make for a dynamite combo with Stephen Curry. Will he be good enough to afford trading Monta Ellis? Read More »

We know one thing: Jimmer Fredette will be an entertainer. Think Jason Williams back in the day out in Sacramento, except slightly different. He doesn’t pass. He shoots. And scores.
Still, we aren’t sure how this fits in with Sacramento. They already have guys like Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins who can score. Do they really need Fredette as well? We will see. Read More »
