Greivis Vasquez Shows You His Offseason Workout

Despite what you may think, most NBA players don’t set sail for the Caribbean once the season ends; many head back to school and live in the gym. This is definitely the case for Maryland alumnus Greivis Vasquez, who despite having a successful rookie season in Memphis, is doing whatever it takes to get better. With that, watch Greivis workout with Terps strength and conditioning coach Paul Ricci and skills specialist David Adkins.

What do you think? How good will Vasquez be next season?

It’s amazing to me how guys like him are so good in college, but everyone’s surprised when they can do some things in the league, too.

Can’t believe that he and Xavier Henry didn’t get more tick this past year in Memphis. Loved him at MD and obviously he seems like a class act.

Then again, Memphis knew something we didn’t about their guard rotation. Can’t blame them after the way their season turned out.

Can anyone speak as to how good Mike Conley is/could be?

Terp Alum here…It’s good to see Greivis working on his game. He has the intangibles and the skill level to really contribute, so I expect bigger things from him this (next?) year. I also noticed they were doing a lot of work on his left hand, which should bode well for him too as he continues to make the move from college SG to NBA PG. He’ll never be a pure point, but he can grow into the 1st guard off the bench status if he keeps at it.

And of course, it’s always cool to see the great UMD facilities. Hopefully our new coach can use that to his advantage to get some of these 4 and 5 star prospects, especially the local ones, to come to Maryland.
