Ballin’ Out In The BALL’N All Out

BALL'N All Out

For my first experience hooping on the streets of New York City, I knew I had to come in style. So when the rest of the Dime crew and I headed to Tribeca’s Nelson A. Rockefeller Park, I decided it was time to bust out some fresh kicks. Read More »

True Life: I Make Wallpapers And Backgrounds For NBA Players

@NBAguy11

Last week I was on Twitter when a good friend of mine, Vanderbilt shooting guard John Jenkins, changed his Twitter icon. I asked him where he his new picture came from, and he told me that Brendan Lunn (twitter.com/NBAguy11) had made it for him, and that he made wallpapers for a bunch of college and NBA players. I looked up his stuff on Twitter and was very impressed. After I followed Brendan, he reached out to me saying he was a big fan of Dime Magazine, and then proceeded to ask if some of his work could be featured in Dime. I responded that I would ask my editor. Read More »

Dime’s 1-On-1 NBA Championship: Dwyane Wade Vs. Dirk Nowitzki

Dwyane Wade

THE RULES

I’ve pretty much run out of things to say about these guys. So I took the advice of Dime commentor Chicagorilla and had the two battle it out on the NBA 2K11 blacktop.

Don’t worry, I resisted my every urge to participate and let the computer duke it out against itself to obtain the most unbiased outcome. So what happened? Read More »

New Mixtape: Lil Wayne – Sorry 4 The Wait

Lil Wayne - Sorry 4 The Wait

Before you start asking for a review, stop. It’s only been out for less than four days, and I can’t ever bring myself to start calling something decent or horrendous for at least a few weeks (It’s like my opinion on Superbad. When I first saw it, it was underwhelming and slightly boring. Now that the hype died down, I can at least watch and chuckle at the cops). Read More »

Dime Q&A: Sylven Landesberg Talks Israel And NBA Dreams

Sylven Landesberg

It’s not so easy to take a kid from Brooklyn and drop him off in Israel. But once Sylven Landesberg, the former Mr. Basketball in the state of New York and ACC Freshman of the Year, saw the city of Haifa, the beautiful landscape and the people, that transition became a little bit easier. Now the undisputed leader of Israel’s Maccabi Haifa Heat and a star of the Inside Israeli Basketball TV show, Sylven chatted with us about the team, their tryouts in Florida and NBA dreams. The Ballers Run The ESPYS

Blake Griffin

So The ESPY’s may not be an all-hoops award show, but outside of the U.S. Ladies and their overseas patriot smorgasbord, the ballers stole the show. It started off solid with SNL’s Seth Meyers making us laugh while making every athlete in the room sweat. Our favorite: Meyers mentioning that the Heat’s Big Three was a reference to how many quarters they play in big games. Sick. Burn. Dude. Or the one when Meyers said Kim K is only marrying a Net because she was sick of dating pro athletes. Wow. Read More »

Lockout Professionals Starring Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Tyson Chandler & Ron Artest

Looking for help around the house? These NBA players can help! And yes, this ESPYs spot clearly references the Sprite lockout commercials from 1998.

The ESPYs: Dime Style

Dirk Nowitzki

What will you be doing tonight? Hopefully, it’ll be in front of a TV, with some chips and drinks, checking out one of the best nights in sports.

Tonight at 9 P.M. EST, Seth Meyers will be hosting the ESPYs. While much of our night will be centered on finding the good-looking females in attendance (remember Brooklyn Decker last year?), as well as attempting to make it through much of the boring parts of the show (seriously, who cares about the Best Jockey or the Best Bowler?), this has always been a relatively memorable night.
