Happy Birthday Antoine Walker!

Before Antoine Walker filed for bankruptcy and before he got in trouble numerous times for writing bad checks and driving himself into debt, ‘Toine could play a little. Now when I say play a little, I mean he wasn’t going to win you a championship, but he could average 20, 9 & 4 for you and give you weekly nights of feast and famine. If you were a Celtic fan during the Walker days, you at least knew you would be entertained. Check out this video from his career night in 1998: 49 points, zero assists while somehow hitting all five of his treys.

What’s your favorite memory of Walker and his shimmy?

My favorite memories are just him doing the Walker Wiggle after even the most basic play. I also remember being very disappointed when he never stopped chucking 3s or became the point-forward Pitino said he could become. Too bad dude hung out to much w/ MJ instead of saving his $$$, cuz he made A TON. Pretty sad actually…

This guy was one of the most overrated players of all time. Guy was garbage, and its criminal that he made (and wasted) as much money as he did. I don’t know why this idiot thought he could shoot, there are centers out there I’d rather were jacking 3s than this guy. He is basically a fat fuck guy who is 6’8, played no defense, couldn’t shoot, and probably had more fouls a game than passes…

Guy is nearly the most selfish, big paid player in history, next to AI…Fuck this guy!

There was nothing overrated about Antoine. Why don’t you show me where idiots like you ever gave him any credit because it never happened. You can’t be overrated when NO ONE gives you any credit at all.

Walker was underrated. He never got any credit for what he accomplished. He was one of only 3 guys to average over 20 points, 8-9 rebounds and 5 assists several times when he played and the other names were superstars.

Walker might not have led a team to a title but he certainly deserves credit. Like bitter whiner Boston fans will ever give him any credit. Even though HALF of you never even paid attention to the team before KG.

Top 10 PFs of the last 20 years:

    Duncan
    Malone
    Barkley
    Dirk
    Sheed
    KG
    Webber
    Rodman
    Brand
    Gasol

After that you could put up names like Kemp, LJ, Jamison, Bosh, Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Aldridge, Zach Randolph, David West, Boozer, maybe K-Mart, Robinson, and honestly, probably a half dozen other guys from the 90s that I can’t think of right now.

Before Walker. He belongs towards the tail end of that paragraph.

He excelled in an era that was AFTER the GREAT big men, but BEFORE all of the VERY GOOD players of our era. He was like Shareef Abdur Raheem (in terms of his success), but he happened to play with Paul Pierce and in Boston.

That’s not to say that he wasn’t entertaining, though.

I agree with the guy who said he was garbage, but only because he pointed out that eh was also fat.
