Brandon Ashley Summer Mixtape

When we posted last week about Arizona landing a verbal commitment from Brandon Ashley, a top-5 overall prospect in the Class of 2012, people went bananas. The 6-8, 215-pound power forward transferred this summer to Findlay Prep in Nevada following his time at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, but stayed home to dominate the circuit playing with the Oakland Soldiers. See what all the fuss was about…

What do you think?

i hope he grows to the 6’10”-6’11” range. The league is slowing getting a good crop of young bigs after it feels like a decade of wing players dominating the shine.

    my personal favorites are:

    javale mcgee
    kevin love
    blake griffin
    deandre jordan
    brook lopez
    greg monroe
    demarcus cousins
    roy hibbert
    serge ibaka

These guys are already established bigs whose games are proven:
joakim noah, dwight howard, andrew bogut, lamarcus aldridge, al jefferson, al horford, pau gasol, andrew bynum
—Another good list of big men but still the point here must be on the focus of the young crop of bigs.

the league also has some unproven bigs but they may become something if they work hard: ed davis, morris twins, tristan thompson, jonas valianciuas, enes kanter, jan vesley, keneth faried, larry sanders, ekpe udoh

also, the league has some mediocre bigs who are good but arent quite all stars
    bargnani, milsap, okafor, marc gasol

    o well.

Kid has long arms and good timing, but I agree with the poster above, he needs a few more inches to play the four in the league.
