Besides getting some sweet new kicks from Reebok, John Wall celebrated his 21st birthday in NYC last Thursday with a star-studded party at Greenhouse. As you can see in the video below, Carmelo Anthony, Kemba Walker, Baron Davis, Drake, Diddy, Swizz Beatz, DJ Khaled, and Jim Jones came out to support the young fella.
Everything had been fine until this guy showed up. Kyle Lee Watson thought he might with this tournament being back home and all. Georgetown had been great to him his freshman year, whether he played great or not, but still there were people back home who wanted to see him fail. They wanted to see him lose. Haters gonna hate. Always. Read More »
Usually there is no “D” in D’Antoni, however a few minor moves seem to indicate that the Knicks are finally committed to stopping their opponent on the defensive side of the floor. Although the Knicks head coach has had plenty of both regular season and postseason success, his lack of an NBA Finals appearance has caused the public to dub him as too offensive-minded to ever win a championship. For all of those D’Antoni doubters, help is finally on the way. Read More »

Butch McRae had felt like this since the day it all started. By the day it all started, he meant the afternoon after practice at Western when he came storming into Pete Bell’s office.
“What is it Butch?” Bell had asked him, only caring to a certain point as he fidgeted around the room, drawing on the whiteboard or grabbing a soda. Read More »
It’s about time Tyreke Evans got some commercial love. And it appears what gives ‘Reke that extra swag in his crossover is VBlast, the new vitamin-enhanced water bottled in Upstate New York. Also, go behind the scenes of the shoot after the jump.
Would you take Allen Iverson? We think most fans would speak up in favor of bringing the future Hall of Famer back into the NBA. But how many GMs would? If you go by their recent actions, not too many, and every year he’s gone from the game, the more likely it is that we’ve seen the last of him in an NBA uniform. The Answer still wants to fight his way back in, and it’s being reported that’s exactly what he’s doing in reaching out to some of the game’s best trainers and working his way back. He might make an appearance in the Impact Vegas League. We wish AI would get another shot – he did grace our first ever issue of Dime and still holds a special place for us – but the chances are about as good as us seeing basketball on opening night … Read More »
You might have heard, but today the owners and players met once again to go over this lockout business. For a variety of reasons – not all entirely true – things had been looking hopeful in the past week or so. But alas, the news wasn’t good as both sides came out of the meetings without any further progress being made.
We could roll out 500 words on how annoying all of this is, but Twitter has been breaking down the emotional roller coaster for us over the past hour or so anyways. Take it away Twitter: Read More »
An integral part of Dime’s literary footprint is basketball-related video game news. This has become doubly important in the wake of the ongoing lockout, where getting one’s hoops fix sometimes leads to the digital world. With this in mind, Konami is prepared to launch a basketball game that will change everything. The Dime editorial staff has been provided with an advance copy, and I am privileged to give you a sneak peek. Plug in your controllers, blow on your cartridge, turn the television to Channel 3 and come with me. Read More »
I like to watch music videos probably more than the next guy, but I’ve never seen anything quite like this. Up and coming rapper Cane, who hails from Fredericksburg, Va., released a music video for his song “Trying To Find Time” the other day; but instead of video vixens and bottles of Cristal, he decided to use footage of free agent swingman Reggie Williams (who spent the last two seasons in Golden State) and former NBA player Maurice Carter.
