The Greatest NBA Lockout Rant Of All Time

You might remember German musician Flula Borg from the “His Name is Dirk” music video in honor of his favorite basketball player, Dirk Nowitzki. Now, Flula is back to give his two cents on the NBA Lockout, which he calls “a big time of Scheisse.” It’s amazing.

Second-Round Picks Are The Real Losers Of The Lockout; Carmelo Anthony Had Secret Knee Surgery

Josh Selby

We tend to highlight the Rashard Lewises and Eddy Currys whose contracts, concocted largely in part by NBA front offices, lead to pro ball purgatory (i.e. the NBA Lockout). However we often lose sight of the other end of the spectrum on the road to a new CBA: second round draft picks. USA Today published a piece on second round rookies like Travis Leslie, Isaiah Thomas and Josh Selby and how they’ve managed their finances, or relative lack thereof, until play resumes. Read More »

I’m From Marcy, Son: How Jay-Z Can Rock A Brooklyn Nets Concert

Jay-Z

The Nets are staying and moving at the same time. Earlier today, Jay-Z joined a group at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn that included developer Bruce Ratner and Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz, and announced the Nets will indeed be moving into the new arena in Brooklyn, and will keep the New Jersey team’s name. They’ll be no Brooklyn Bridges or Kings. It’ll be the Brooklyn Nets. Read More »

Lil’ Blake Griffin Is A Murderer

Lil’ Blake is the meaner, paler cousin of Li’l Penny, who instead of framing his big brother for murders, used to throw parties and sing songs in the hope of landing the hand of Tyra Banks. Lil’ Blake is one angry little dummy.

Baby Shaq Powers His Way To Red Bull King of the Rock Title

Baby Shaq

It was the greatest 8-to-6 basketball game you’ll ever see.

Andre Emmett, formerly of the Memphis Grizzlies and Bobby Knight’s Texas Tech program (where he is the all-time leading scorer), was going 1-on-1 with Vili Morton, a relative unknown who played college ball at California-Riverside and now manages basketball training programs at 24 Hour Fitness gyms in the Bay Area. On paper it shouldn’t have been close. Read More »

Russell Westbrook: The Only Point Guard Kevin Durant Wants

The marriage doesn’t have to fail. Two spectacular young players can make it work, can be friends, can stay together.

Over the weekend, Kevin Durant did what was both necessary and not surprising: He confirmed to Yahoo! Sports that Russell Westbrook is the only point guard he wants. He doesn’t want to play with Chris Paul or Rajon Rondo or any of the league’s other great lead guards if it means giving up his boy. Read More »
