Converse Chuck Taylor All Star – Limited “Piedmont Park” Edition

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

In 1917, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star gave the world a blank canvas. At first it played basketball, then Rock & Roll, and then everything else. And now, even after everything it’s been, it remains anything you want. So after unveiling two new basketball courts at historic Piedmont Park in midtown Atlanta this April, Converse graced us with a pair of these canvas, optical whites to remember what went down. LeBron James Stars In New McDonald’s Commercial

It’s about time LeBron James got a new commercial from McDonald’s. And as part of the chain’s upcoming Monopoly sweepstakes, the King actually gives in to some self-deprecating humor surrounding his “seven championships” claim from last summer. This spot will start running next week.

Dime’s Ultimate Movie Baller Is… Jesus Shuttlesworth

Jesus Shuttlesworth

Ohhhh Jesus I love you!”

“I love you!”

Jesus, I need some money…”

No matter where he went on Coney Island, they came around. People always wanted something. Even in his moment to relax, trophy and check in hand, the sweat running off his fingers and dampening the paper, they mixed in with the crowd. Everywhere he looked, he could point them out: always reaching out trying to touch him… always with a fake look of despair on their faces. Read More »

NBA Fantasy Team Analysis: The Cleveland Cavaliers

Baron Davis

The Cleveland Cavaliers won just 19 games last season, good for second worst in the NBA. They also dealt away their most promising big man before the lockout began, which is kind of a downer for fantasy purposes. While there are some things to get excited about — the arrivals of a skilled rookie point guard and a promising rookie power forward, along with the return of Sideshow Bob – this Cavs squad has “timeshare” written all over it. Put on your sad face as we dive into the fantasy prospects for Dan Gilbert‘s crew. Read More »

He’s back. After getting up with Rudy Gay last week in NYC, he told me that he could not wait to get back on the court. And after a positive report from the doctor on Monday, that’s exactly what he did. With that, check out Gay in his first game back from injury at the “Lockout League,” as well as all of the highlights from Day 6 in Vegas.

The Thunder Prove There’s No Breakup; The Nuggets Are Losing All of Their Players

Kevin Durant & Russell Westbrook

Every time someone comes forward to attempt to break a story about the breakup of the Thunder, we get hit with a spinning forehand right back at our faces. Recently, a team workout was organized for four days on the University of Texas campus. 10 of the team’s 15-man roster showed up. Out of the players who didn’t show up, some were overseas, another was recently married and the other two were Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson. This came just before there were reports that Perkins and Russell Westbrook had problems last year. A team with rifts and chemistry problems doesn’t do this, trust us. There were no organization personnel on hand (obviously), and everything was set up by Royal Ivey, who just happens to be like, the last man on the bench. Read More »

Happy Birthday Bonzi Wells!

It’s pretty sad that this was one of the better (only) highlights of the now 35-year-old Bonzi Wells I could find on YouTube. In my best Grant Napear voice: “If you don’t like Bonzi, you don’t like NBA basketball!”
