Report: Ohio State Recruit LaQuinton Ross Is Ineligible

One of the best high school players in the country and perhaps Ohio State’s most important recruit of this year won’t be playing for the Buckeyes next season. LaQuinton Ross, a 6-8 swingman from Jackson, Miss. was ruled ineligible. Check out TheHoopDoctors.com for the full story. Apparently, Ross’ plan is to take some necessary courses from home with the intent to try to get to Ohio State in January. Hit the jump for another video of the kid who was once the No. 1 ranked player in his class.

Dang, when will these coaches, parents and athletes learn. You cannot do anything without education!! No matter how great you are on the court, without education, at some point, it is going to be null and void! Furthermore, what was this kid doing all 4 years of HS? Because HS is not hard! Neither is college for that matter! Get it together!!!

Right on, how is it that this kid didn’t even make it out of high school with all his academic responsiblities in check.
C’Mon son, get your act together, your not in the NBA, your not even into college yet and your struggling to make it out of high school. Isn’t there someone (mom, dad, family member, mentor, school teacher, …) guiding this kid towards success?
This guy better learn that Education is vital for his development in life on and off the basketball court. It’s not all about basketball so don’t pay attention to the hype, be humble and be responsible.
