In light of the NBA canceling the first two weeks of the season, NBA players and basketball fans everywhere are in a dark place this morning. And one NBA player, Brandon Bass, is letting it be known that all he wants to do is ball. With that, check out the music video that Bass wrote and shot himself for his track, “Billion Dollar Dream.”
Other than music videos, one of the best things to come from this dreaded NBA lockout is the fact that NBA players are taking it upon themselves to put themselves out there. And the latest player to do so is Jeremy Lin. With that, take some time to spend a day in the offseason with the Warriors’ sophomore point guard.
Being a product’s spokesman is one thing. But actually using that product religiously? That’s another level. Dwyane Wade and Mission Court Grip are attempting to change the game. When we first introduced you to this new brand, we found out Wade was spreading the message all over college and pro basketball, and he was spotted using it this weekend at FIU. Be on the lookout for more info on Mission Court Grip from us in the coming weeks (photo credit goes to our man Jim Donnelly)…
What a shocker (please). The NBA season won’t start on time after talks stalled once more. Sad. Just sad. We feel for everyone who wants to see real basketball. We feel for all the employees who make their living off the NBA. We feel for Nick Young‘s hair. We feel for the integrity of the game. We even feel for the two sides who can’t seem to figure this trash out. But now it’s official: the first two weeks are gone because David Stern says there is a substantial gap between the two sides. Yesterday, there were reports that the sides were making progress, but at this point, it’s all a game of shadows and mirrors. Some people want to believe it’ll get done. Others say it’s going to take a long time … Read More »
While I can’t confirm that this is Adam Morrison and not Brendan Fraser from Encino Man, I’m pretty sure. Regardless, I need someone in Serbia to tell me what to search so I can purchase this song from iTunes.
At this point with the lockout, any good news is worth celebrating. As the sides teeter on the edge of canceling games, David Aldridge of NBA.com reported earlier today they are close to an agreement on one aspect of the lockout: the mid-level exception.
A source close to the negotiations says they may soon have a deal for what would probably be a shorter version of the former mid-level exception. Read More »

While Luol Deng might be one of the most underrated players in the NBA, he’s a huge deal across the pond. And with the Olympics headed to London next summer, we’ll be seeing plenty more of him. In fact, if you head over there, you can even buy a copy of Dime using currency with Deng’s face on it. Read More »
The last few NBA Finals were unique for me, completely different than any I had witnessed before. The game wasn’t limited to the television. It was on my phone, on my computer, instant, fresh and funny. It actually made me feel bad for LeBron. No one in NBA history had to deal with that level of criticism: constant, unrelenting and immediate, from all sides. Of course, he didn’t do much to help himself either, but that’s beside the point. I mean, Stephen Colbert does have a point: The NBA owners are working hard to save the season so Americans don’t have to watch hockey. There’s probably nothing more patriotic than that.
