Amidst all this Rajon Rondo/Chris Paul hoopla today, I stumbled across some amazing footage of the first NBA meeting between Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury. Both rookies during the 1996-97 season, you can understand the hype surrounding the No. 1 pick and No. 4 pick facing off – a game that didn’t occur until March 11, 1997. While this footage is great, it’s even better after watching A.I. and Steph battle in college. Read More »

If you didn’t know this by now, Ghostface Killah is one of the most hilarious entertainers out there, intentional or not. Ghostface and Raekwon together are like a couple old knuckleheads running their mouths, the two guys in Wu-Tang who hated on everyone. And while one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, wasn’t intended to be funny, the guys at FunnyOrDie.com did a pretty good job of making it laughable. Check out the video after the jump. Read More »

After the Kamikaze’s triumphant return, you knew Reebok was going to continue to look to their archives for upcoming releases. And the Reebok Blast appears to have called, “Next.” Inspired by the original ’90s version of the shoe made famous on the feet of Nick Van Exel, the Blast brings a refreshed, on-court look to the street. Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo have always been at each other’s throats. Some cats, like Derrick Rose, they just don’t care about the competition. They do their thing, and if people annoint them as MVPs or anything else, it doesn’t matter. But some guys… they need that respect. They crave it. Chris Paul is like that. He rolls with LeBron and D-Wade. The best in the business. And Rondo is definitely like that. Read More »

PETA has used many NBA athletes in their longstanding “Ink, Not Mink” campaign against the fur industry. You had to only assume that Chris Andersen would one day get the call. Following in the footsteps of Amar’e Stoudemire and Gilbert Arenas, check out Birdman’s ad and some behind-the-scenes footage from his photo shoot. Read More »

After the Summer of 2010′s free agent frenzy and the Summer of 2011′s mind-numbing lockout, it’s nice to arrive at a place where NBA transactions can once again take place. And of all the current free agents, there’s no one happier than Nene. He might not be Dwight Howard or Chris Paul, but the 29-year-old from Brazil has the potential to make just as big an impact (and payday). Read More »

If Rajon Rondo does make it all the way to opening night still in New England, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and all the rest of Boston better be sucking up to him because dude will be pissed off. Not long after rumors began that Danny Ainge was dragging Rondo’s name into talks with rival GMs, Chris Paul came up. It turned out the league’s reigning best PG (at least in the public’s eye) was the guy Boston wanted, and if it cost them Rondo so be it. New Orleans wasn’t jumping at the deal, and now Rondo has his own suitor: the Indiana Pacers. Read More »

This season, college basketball is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the three-point shot. The three-ball forever changed the game of basketball. It made a place for the Steve Kerrs and Kyle Korvers of the world, who have the ability to get three points for what is seemingly a layup to them. It also changed the game among mid-major teams. Mostly all of the best men in the nation attend big name schools, leaving the mid-majors with little size to scrounge over. With limited power on the block, these squads have no choice but to consistently hoist three-balls to be competitive. Just take a look at VCU, whose torrid shooting pace brought them all the way to the Final Four last season. Read More »
