You Be The Judge: Should Kevin Garnett Be Suspended?

Kevin Garnett

In case you missed it, after Kevin Garnett missed a jumper at the buzzer, he then decided to use his Jedi Force push on Bill Walker‘s neck, cuffing the former Celtic and throwing him out of his face. When asked about it after the game, Garnett scoffed, “Next question,” but Walker had more to say. Read More »

Nate Robinson: “One Team’s Trash Is Another Team’s Treasure”

Nate Robinson

As you can imagine, everyone at Dime HQ doesn’t always agree on everything. And this is particularly the case when it comes projecting a player’s future. We all think we have what it takes to be an NBA GM, and we’ll go to bat for the players we believe in. But if there’s one player that sticks out from the pack from endless debates on Broadway, it’s Nate Robinson. Read More »

Who’s Better: Kevin Love Or Blake Griffin?

Kevin Love

It feels great to be watching real basketball. No more preseason and no more summer charity games. In fact, even college wasn’t filling it enough. Too many missed lay-ups, stupid plays and insane, attention-seeking coaches. As the season began yesterday on Christmas, two of the most watched teams – at least with hardcore NBA fans – could be the Clippers (definitely) and the T’Wolves (probably). The two major reasons for that? Two of the biggest young stars in the game: Blake Griffin and Kevin Love. Read More »

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.26

Carmelo Anthony

Beast of the Night: Carmelo Anthony kicked off the 2011-12 NBA season in a big way, finishing Christmas Day with 37 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, a block and four threes. He shot 59 percent (10-17) from the floor, hit 87 percent (13-15) of his free throws and had five turnovers. ‘Melo clearly thrives in that Knicks offense and will prove himself worthy of a first-round pick this season. Derrick Rose Destroys Christmas In Los Angeles; Carmelo Anthony Goes Off

Derrick Rose

On the opening day of the regular season, it was hard to pick a leading headline. Too many great games. Matchups. Players to watch. Championship-caliber teams. And it was all on Christmas, so you know everyone (besides the entire Dallas organization) was bringing everything they had for the national TV audience. But we weren’t sure any game topped the one smack in the middle: Chicago coming from behind in the final minutes to shock the Lakers, 88-87. Chicago gave us a new meaning for Chistmas stuffing by snuffing Kobe Bryant‘s (28 points, seven rebounds, six assists) baseline pull-up at the buzzer and stealing a game they had no business winning, down double digits in the fourth quarter, and then after being down six with 54 seconds left once Kobe made a miraculous spin move fallaway.
