The Top 10 NBA Plays Of The Season’s First Half

9. Ricky Rubio’s first season in the NBA has given us numerous passing highlights, but his dime to Nikola Pekovic on Feb. 19 may very well be the best. Rubio’s nonchalance about the whole thing almost undermines how great it was. It also makes us want to know what he’s got up his sleeve for the second half of the year.

When you bounce the ball off the backboard, catch it, then dunk it, do you get credit for an offensive rebound?

rebounds are rebounds because they are missed shot recoveries….a bounce off the backboard is considered a deflection, just like how a ref is part of the game, if the ball hits the ref, but doesn’t go out of bounds, the ball is still in play. if you bounce the ball off the ref and can a 3, does the ref get credit for the assist? no. that is the reason you don’t get an assist for yourself when you bounce the ball off the backboard and yam it. it’s just considered a deflection or whatever. i can’t think of a better word than deflection, but i hope y’all get my point.
