Breaking News: Cleveland Trades Ramon Sessions To The Lakers

UPDATE: Jason Lloyd of The Akron Beacon Journal just tweeted that the deal has been expanded to include Christian Eyenga going to Los Angeles, and Luke Walton and the Lakers first rounder (lottery protected) in 2012 going to Cleveland.

Laker fans can finally rejoice. They have a point guard. And while Ramon Sessions isn’t tricking anyone into thinking he’s Deron Williams any time soon, he’s better than anything the Lakers have. Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com is reporting the Lakers will send Cleveland a future draft pick in exchange for the Cavs backup point guard, Sessions, and the right to swap first-round picks with Miami in 2013.

The Lakers needed some help and some more depth if they wanted any chance of winning more than a round in the playoffs. Now with Sessions, they have some help at the point. If the Michael Beasley trade falls through as well, they will be deeper and should be better. But is it enough to win the West? Probably not.

How big of an impact will Sessions have in Los Angeles?
