Jason Terry’s Top 5 Plays As A Maverick

Now that Jason Terry’s time with the Dallas Mavericks is reportedly coming to a close, we thought we would recall his best plays as a Maverick. Even though Dirk was the key cog in the Dallas wheel, Terry was always there, providing a spark off the bench and relieving some of the scoring pressure. There’s no doubt there were many great plays during his eight-year run with the Mavs, as he was a key ingredient in Dallas’ 2006 Finals squad and 2011 championship team. But we’ve narrowed it down to five, so check them out as we count them down.

5. Jason Terry dunks on Keith Bogans (2010-2011 season)

Even though Terry was, shall we say, aging, at the time, he could still get up when he had to. Keith Bogans found that out the hard way.

4. Jason Terry game winning shot against Philadelphia (2009-2010 season)

In November of 2009, the Mavs and Sixers were tied at 102 with 5.6 seconds left. Jason Terry caught the ball in the right corner and went to work, dribbing middle, spinning back baseline and nailing an 18-foot fadeaway to put Dallas up two with 1.4 seconds left.

3. Jason Terry dunks on Adonal Foyle (2006-2007 season)

Remember when Adonal Foyle was a relevant NBA name? We hate to bring him back to the forefront of your mind in such a negative light, but this is Jason Terry’s memory bank, after all. Check it out as he throws down a two-handed slam on the much bigger Foyle.

2. Jason Terry posterizes Anthony Randolph (2008-2009 season)

We’re still waiting for Anthony Randolph to turn into the feared shot-blocker/rebounder we all expected him to be. And Jason Terry is still waiting, too, as he went up without fear and came down with two points and a new poster to tack up on the wall of his room.

1. Jason Terry hits a clutch three in Game 5 of the NBA Finals (2010-2011)

Basketball is about championships, after all, and no moment singularly defined last year’s Finals as much as Jason Terry’s three-pointer with the shot clock winding down late in the 4th quarter of Game 5. LeBron James was all over him, but no matter. Terry stepped back, pulled up, and nailed a three to give Dallas a 108-101 lead, sealing the victory.
