Eric Bledsoe’s Top 10 Dunks

Eric Bledsoe is an absolute freak of nature. Maybe he hasn’t caught an alley-oop windmill in a game like Gerald Green and maybe he hasn’t put it in-between his legs from the free throw line like James White, but he’s the best little guy dunker since Nate Robinson.

After Nate held the dunk contest title belt for three of five years, I think it’s fair to say that nothing gets the crowd and the judges more excited than a little man dunking a basketball during All-Star Weekend. Standing at 6-1 (and we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s actually shorter), Eric Bledsoe goes into this year’s dunk contest as my dark horse. I believe he’ll steal the show for all of the guards out there who wish they had bounce.

With that, here are Bledsoe’s top 10 dunks leading up to All-Star Weekend.

*** *** ***

10. CREEPING UP ON J-SMOOVE
The Clippers guard runs from outside the three-line and unleashes his springs to follow up a miss with a mean two-handed put-back on Josh Smith. Maybe you’ll look to box out next time, Josh.

9. BLEDSOE BANGS ON BATTIER
Should have been out of the restricted area, Shane. You know you can’t take charges in there. During Bledsoe’s rookie year, he caught Shane Battier sleeping under the rim and put him on a poster. Bledsoe wasn’t as well known for his athleticism at this point, but let it be known on this play that defenders would be better off getting out of the way next time.

8. BIG BLUE MADNESS
Eric Bledsoe starts off his freshman campaign at Kentucky Big Blue Madness with a bang. Literally. Bledsoe throws it up to himself and then puts in through the cylinder with a semi-windmill reverse dunk. The best part about it was that for a brief millisecond, Bledsoe was hanging upside down on the rim. We can’t put this one at the top due to the fact that it was in layup lines but my goodness, this is a ridiculous dunk.

7. CRAWFORD TO BLEDSOE WITH THE EXCLAMATION
Earlier this year, Lob City was pulverizing the Mavericks late in the fourth quarter when Jamal Crawford and Bledsoe decided to team up in sending Mark Cuban and co. back home. Crawford got out on the break and threw the lob up behind him to a trailing Bledsoe, who finished with the reverse slam. This exclamation point at the end of an easy Clippers victory relayed the message of “goodnight Dallas.”

6. GOODMAN v. MELO LEAGUE
CP3 and Bledsoe linked up during the NBA’s recent lockout to remind everyone what they do in the NBA, just in case you forgot. Bledsoe comes out of nowhere to receive the alley-oop off the glass from his psychic teammate. After throwing down the two-handed jam, Bledsoe throws himself off of the rim for a signature finish.

5. OFF THE GLASS FROM CP3
Something light. Much like we saw at No. 5 in the countdown during their summer competition, CP3 throws it off the glass to EB, who receives and delivers it with two hands, spiraling back to planet Earth on the way down.

4. C’MON SON!
CP3 gets scrappy on the floor and somehow gets it to a streaking Bledsoe, who catches the ball in stride and gets ready for take off. While he’s elevated, a New Orleans defender makes a bad decision and finds himself within the vicinity of Bledsoe, who throws it on his neck. Looks like N.O. will have to wait for Mardi Gras again to celebrate.

3. HANG TIME
Looking fresh out of a video game, EB gives hang time his own definition as he elevates on this one like he’s wearing a jet pack. Bledsoe rips baseline and goes up like he’s going to finish on the baseline side, but decides at the last second to move the ball to the front of the rim so that he can throw down on Corey Brewer‘s head.

2. UNLEASHING THE HAMMER ON SAC-TOWN
Bledsoe replaces Blake Griffin at the rim on this one as he fills the lane and catches a sweet one-handed alley-oop bang. In one of his many connections with Chris Paul, Bledsoe looks eye-to-eye with the rim as he reiterates why the Clippers are nicknamed “Lob City.”

1. LeBRON-ESQUE
Are you serious? Poor Kings. My reaction was identical to the Clippers bench after seeing this one. Bledsoe channels his inner LeBron and cocks it back for the vicious throwdown. As the Kentucky product goes full steam ahead towards the rim, the Kings defense knows better and parts like the Red Sea. Hard to believe this dude is only 6-1. In addition, the Clippers announcers reaction of, “OH, ME OH MY!” is/will always be priceless. MAMA THERE GOES THAT MAN!

Does Bledsoe have a chance to win the dunk contest this weekend?
