Best of NBA Instagram: Kobe Bryant Is Now Running In Zero Gravity

Since Kobe Bryant went down with a torn Achilles tendon on the eve of the 2013 NBA Playoffs, a lot has happened. The Lakers lost out on re-signing Dwight Howard, adoptive LA son Metta World Peace is gone, and now the Lakers are attempting to compete with an aging cast led by a hobbled Bryant. But just four months after Mamba went down, he’s already running — albeit in zero gravity — as a recent IG post shows.

Kobe’s Instagram game is top notch, and posts like this one — similar to when we first saw him, post-injury, with a basketball — can provide Lakers fans more hope he’ll be back at full capacity next season. You know he’s pretty driven to return for a chance at his sixth title. Either that, or he’ll have to try and purchase an old one if it’s still around.

Kobe captioned the video, #mambamental, and we’re gonna interpret that in our own way. Some stars would sit out the start of the season and give the Lakers a chance for a spot in next season’s coveted draft lottery while they re-stock with a few big-name free agents possibly terminating their contracts early. But not #mambamental. Steve Nash knows.

This was just a peek into all the work Kobe’s doing to come back earlier than expected. We can’t wait to see the end result.

Do you think Kobe will be ready to play on opening night against the Clippers?
