Bulls Wing Jimmy Butler Drops Buckets On Mark Wahlberg

The Bulls are poised to contend for a title this year with a healthy roster, specifically Derrick Rose, and a defensive wing that personifies contemporary NBA desires for a 3 & D stud. Jimmy Butler is that stud, and he comes cheap on his rookie contract, something the frugal Reinsdorf prefers. Maybe Butler’s not raking in multiple millions, but he recently balled with an actor who has, Mark Wahlberg.

Butler took to Twitter to proclaim his dominance over the 5-8 actor famous for playing Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights and more recently paired with Denzel Washington as a DEA agent on the run in 2 Guns. But Butler’s got the biggest guns on a basketball court, and he wasn’t humble about it either.

Butler’s boasting is OK, since all his hard work means he’ll likely be seeing a hefty raise over his rookie contract once the summer of 2015 rolls around. With Luol Deng now likely gone in free agency next summer after extension talks just stalled, if not collapsed, the Bulls will need their young defensive whiz. Butler’s length and athleticism is a must when the Bulls face the Heat in the playoffs. He’s one of the few people who can make life a little more difficult for LeBron James. But for now, he’s just going to revel in the Pain & Gain he gave Marky Mark.
