The Lakers face an uphill battle this year with Kobe Bryant‘s Achilles tendon receiving German attention, plus Pau Gasol and 39-year-old Steve Nash battling against the ravages of Father Time. But a recent Instagram video shows that the former two-time MVP in Phoenix still has that passing gene, and Chris Kaman and Pau could be the beneficiaries this season.
This is just a brief glimpse of a Lakers practice at camp, so lets not overreact. Nash’s back and legs, Pau’s patellar tendons and Kaman’s overall health (he hasn’t been healthy and productive for a significant stretch since 2009-10) are huge question marks in the opening week of training camp. But it’s nice to see Nash hitting them both for those easy set shots from fifteen feet. Maybe the Lakers will be a lot better than many predict?
More likely one of the three will suffer an injury and we’ll get to see Kobe Bryant’s fiery gaze rest on Nick Young, a leading candidate for this decade’s Smush Parker role.
Do you think Nash, Pau and Kaman will all stay healthy this season?
