J.R. Smith Rides Citi Bike To MSG For Knicks Game [Photo]

The New York Knicks are trying to climb back to .500 tonight when the Bobcats come to town. Unfortunately, they’re still without the NBA’s 2012-13 Sixth Man of the Year, J.R. Smith. The volatile wing is still waiting to make his 2013-14 debut after the NBA’s five-game suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug policy. But that doesn’t mean Smith won’t be on the bench, so he’s got to get to the game somehow.

#BikeLife! Smith snapped a photo of himself riding a Citi Bike to the game; Citi Bike’s are New York City’s attempt to cut down on traffic congestion. There are stands for the branded bikes throughout Manhattan and the other four boroughs, and it looks as if Smith has availed himself of the alternative transportation method to make it to the Garden in plenty of time to see tonight’s action.

The caption on Smith’s IG post makes it seem like rapper Meek Mill begged off the bike jaunt.

“@meekmill you ain’t bout the #BikeLife lmfao #OnMyWayToTheGarden!”

Smith returns to the court on Sunday against the Spurs after the Bobcats-Knicks home-and-home this week.

What do you think of Smith’s impromptu bike ride?
