NBA Instagram Fashion: A Sneaker Edition, Vol. 6

From Jordan‘s sneakers to Iverson‘s tattoos, NBA players have long had an influence that reaches far beyond the court… and today, the league’s fashion focus is climbing to new heights. With resources like Twitter and Instagram, many players are captivated by a quest to promote the latest trend. This obsession with social media, in conjunction with a mass hipster movement and David Stern‘s implementation of the dress code, has resulted in a fair bit of questionable dressing.

How many of the fishing lures from Russell Westbrook‘s shirt have actually caught on, though? You see, it’s ultimately up to you to decide… and for this reason we ask you, what’s really hot in the streets?

Who: Kevin Durant
What: Air Jordan V “Oregon Ducks”
Where: Instagram
When: 1 day ago

What I Think: Just some of the perks of being an All-Star NBA athlete and having a Nike deal. There’s no denying that these shoes are one of kind and judging on how rare these Jordans are, the public can’t cop ’em.

Who: DeMarcus Cousins
What: Nike “Safari” Foamposite, Nike Air Jordan V “Oreo”, Nike “Weatherman” Foamposite
Where: Instagram
When: 5 days ago

What I think: Having a range of kicks to wear is a plus in anybody’s book. We all need a variety to rock at any given time, and Boogie Cousins is an example of the importance of that. There’s only a handful of NBA players that truly have the kick game on lock and DMC is of them.

Who: Dwyane Wade
What: Li-Ning Way of Wade 2 “Veterans Day”
Where: Instagram
When: 2 weeks ago

What I think: This colorway is just ugly. Wade is known to be one of the most stylish players in the league, and the Way or Wade line is actually very dope (the purple All-Star joints had to be one of the top PEs all of last season), but this right here hurts the eyes. Camo is an essential colorway for most shoes, and a lot of can kicks pull it off. But these pulled a “Shaq at the free throw line.” Brick!

Who: Tyshawn Taylor
What: Timberland “Wheat” Boots
Where: Instagram
When: 6 days ago

What I think: “Wheats.” “Constructs.” “Timbs.” Whatever you want to call them, these boots are classic. More importantly, they are acceptable for practically any time of the year. Tyshawn Taylor pulled these off and showed that no matter the place or time, Timbs are always acceptable.

Who: Russell Westbrook
What: All-Red Air Jordan 3
Where: Instagram
When: 2 weeks ago

What I Think: Besides wearing the typical “Russell Westbrook outfit,” our main man Russell finally showed us that his shoe game is on a level that most of us can’t reach. Westbrook is a man that gets a lot of backfire for his choice of outfits but today he gets a pass.

Who: LeBron James
What: LeBron 11 “Floral” PE
When: 1 day ago

What I think: LeBron is known for hot PE editions of his kicks, like his Floridian Xs to the “Red Suede.” That being said, LeBron is no rookie for making bold statements with his shoes, and he did with this number here. Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not the biggest fan of floral designs on my kicks, but LeBron pulled it off with these ones.

Who: Marcus Morris
What: Nike Air Jordan Retro PE “Oregon” & “Oregon Pit Crew”
Where: Instagram
When: 1 week ago

What I think: You ask me what I think? I think we at Dime should come up with another box after “Fresh” because Marcus Morris hit it out of the ballpark with this one. These Oregon Jordans are by far the best exclusives from the Jordan line. It’s evident Marcus Morris knows what’s hot in the streets with these in his collection.
