Video: John Wall Chase-Down Block As He Leads The Wizards Over The Nets

We told you about John Wall and the Wizards’ turnaround earlier this season after an important team meeting. Following their 2-7 start in what appeared to be another disappointing campaign in our nation’s capital, Wall and the Wizards are now at No. 5 in the East, all but certain to compete in the playoffs this spring. Wall and the Wiz continued their winning ways with Brooklyn in town Saturday night, including a fantastic chase-down block by Wall, on top of his 33 points during a 101-94 Wiz win.

Marcus Thornton doesn’t see Wall coming at all here:

Wall finished with 33 on the night to go with six assists, four rebounds, and that amazing chasedown block. He was 4-of-6 from deep, something he’s struggled with in the past, and 10-for-15 on the game. The Wiz held on to their No. 5 seed with the victory because Brooklyn was in danger of passing them in the seedings. The next 16 games for the Wiz and 18 for the Nets will be big, but with the win Saturday night, Washington is 3-0 in the season series against Brooklyn, guaranteeing a better seed if both teams finish with identical records.

John Wall was the biggest reason why.
