The Kings are 4-1! The Kings are 4-1!! Where are Mike Bibby, Peja and Vlade? Oh, right, this is Boogie’s team that’s 4-1. DeMarcus Cousins turned in another monster game last night with 30 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in ONLY 22 MINUTES!!! Forgive the exclamation points, but we’ve been rooting for Boogie for a while now, and this GIF of teammate Omri Casspi helping him out with his headband shows that Cousins is at the focal point of a Sac-town resurgence and actual team chemistry.
Boogie was 10-of-14 from the field and 10-for-11 from the stripe while scoring 30 in less than half the game. Rudy Gay added 29 on even better shooting (9/12) and the Kings started the game off outscoring the Nuggets 40-19 in the first quarter and never looked back on their way to a 131-109 win that wasn’t even that close.
And when Omri spotted Cousins needed a little help with headband, he went ahead and helped him out, then got some DAP from an appreciative Cuz.
Why are we so excited? The Kings are 4-1, DeMarcus Cousins is playing efficient, fun basketball while getting everyone involved, and rather than glower his way through the game, he’s smiling and DAPing teammates. Any fan of basketball has to love what’s happening in Sacramento.
