Video: Anthony Davis Skies For One-Handed Oop

Even the most casual basketball fan is able to recognize that New Orleans Pelicans frontman Anthony Davis is poised to be the next superstar in the NBA. The 21-year-old’s talent on the hardwood is unreal and a joy to watch on a nightly basis. Davis displayed his knack in pick-and-roll sets to perfection during the third quarter on Tuesday night against the Charlotte Hornets.

The former Kentucky Wildcat set a beautiful high post screen for teammate Jrue Holiday. With the Hornets’ defense turning their full attention to Holiday as he drove to the basket, traffic was cleared for Davis to fly by two Charlotte defenders. That is when Holiday threw up a pretty lob for Davis to authoritatively throw down with one hand.

After a tight first half, the Pelicans were able to pull away in the second half and end the night with a 100-91 win over the Hornets. Davis led the Pelicans with 24 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks.
