Video: DeMar DeRozan Drops 24 Points In 25 Mins Including Sick 360-Degree Layup

DeMar DeRozan and backcourt mate Kyle Lowry only needed to play about half the game during Toronto’s 120-88 shellacking of Philly on Sunday. We’ll probably be able to say that about a lot of NBA starters after they take on the tanking Sam Hinkie albatross (that makes owner Josh Harris the Ancient Mariner, though we’re not sure he can Rime). DeRozan was efficient in his 25 minutes, though, scoring 24 points on 8-for-12 shooting (8/8 from the stripe) including an unbelievable 360-degree layup on Henry Sims.

DeRozan just keeps getting better every year it seems, and his athleticism hasn’t waned in that time, either:

With the foundation already being laid in the Toronto front office (love what Masai Ujiri‘s done since heading north of the border), a point guard who seems to perfectly complement DeRozan’s game in Kyle Lowry, and a pair of fun, improving big men, Jonas Valanciunas and Amir Johnson, the 6-1 Raptors are at the top of the East after almost a fortnight.

DeRozan’s drive to avoid being one of the many one-time all stars has started off on the right track.

Will DeMar Derozan make another all-star team?
