Watch Ant’s 29 & 13 Help End Atlanta’s Record 19-Game Winning Streak

Only a single tear because this ATL group is a title contender. The Hawks, everyone’s favorite team team, finally succumbed to the law of averages and fell for the first time since December 27, 2014. Last night’s 115-100 loss to the Pelicans was their first in 2015 after becoming the first team in NBA history to go 17-0 in a month. As you’ll see, Anthony Davis — even after tweaking his groin muscle on a fall last week — was the biggest reason why.

At half, Ant had 19 points and seven rebounds and the Pelicans had a 55-42 lead. That included a putback dunk only Mister Fantastic could have pantomimed.

His second half was a little more casual, but he still finished with 29 points (12/23) and 13 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in under 34 minutes.

Tyreke Evans had a double-double — 15 points, 12 dimes and five rebounds — at the point and Eric Gordon scored 20 more from the shooting guard slot. Even Jimmer Fredette knocked down a couple three-pointers, so you knew Atlanta was in trouble.
