When you’ve called some of the most hyped match-ups at Rucker Park for well over a decade, you’ve pretty much seen it all. Boobie Smooth, the legendary New York City MC and streetball icon, brought his microphone to Boston, Mass. this past Saturday for the first stop of the Red Bull 2on2 Revolution Tour. With a never-ending flow of crazy nicknames and hilarious commentary, Boobie had fans rolling with laughter all day long. Watch out for Boobie on the mic this Saturday, when the Revolution tour takes over Harlem’s Lincoln Playground (135th and 5th Ave). This past Saturday in Boston, the Back Bay Fens played host to Red Bull’s first ever 2-on-2 Revolution Tour stop, where only one team would distinguish themselves as Boston’s best. As 32 local teams poured into the park in the morning, players began stretching out, taking practice jumpers and doing everything in their power to prepare themselves for the long day of physical basketball in the blistering summer heat that lay ahead. In the end, Game Time, a duo comprised of 28-year-old Jared Hite and 23-year-old Rob Adams, took home the championship and a $2,000 prize.

Over 500 Boston local youth showed up to the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Roxbury, Mass. on Saturday for the first ever Converse Open Gym event held in Boston. Converse, hosting the 100th Open Gym in its history, used the popular Boston venue as an opportunity for kids to play full-court pick-up basketball in a safe and structured environment.
