The shooting guard position is made for the game’s most gifted scorers. In today’s game, it doesn’t matter if you’re your team’s first option or if you’re coming off the bench. A shooting guard’s job is to put the ball in the hole. It’s always been that way. Although the position isn’t as stacked with talent as it once was, it’s still home to some of the game’s best scorers. Read More »

If you were to compare basketball positions to boxing weight classes, there’s no question that the small forwards are the heavyweights in the game. In boxing, typically the heavyweights are the most popular/best fighters. At the state the game is at right now, the small forwards are the best players. Read More »

The power forward position is without a doubt the most reliable position in the NBA. Most teams are going to struggle without a quality power forward to rely on when the going gets tough. When shots aren’t falling for the guards, power forwards are the guys to turn to. While centers primary focuses are rebounding and blocking shots, power forwards are relied on to do those things, and score in addition to that. Read More »

Times have changed at the center position in today’s NBA. It wasn’t long ago that the best players in the NBA were the centers. Between Olajuwon, Ewing, David Robinson and Shaq, the center position was easily the best position in the league for much of the last 20-25 years. In today’s game, one could argue it’s the least talented position. Read More »

It was an exciting first half to the NBA season. Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, and the reining MVP LeBron James all saw time on the top of the ladder. Going into the second half of the season, those guys are the four favorites for MVP, but you can’t count out Tony Parker and James Harden. Read More »

In the final weeks before the All-Star break, the midseason mark is almost upon us. While every rookie under the sun has struggled at some point this season, Damian Lillard has remained invincible. Anthony Davis wasn’t able to shake injury. Bradley Beal has let the injury bug catch up with him as well, and Dion Waiters lost his starting spot at times. Read More »

Last week, LeBron James reminded us all why he’s a three-time MVP winner and the most dominant player in the NBA. Becoming the youngest player to 20,000 points, while locking in 5,000 career assists (ironically in the same game) was an indication of what makes him so great. The key to LeBron’s success has been his unmatched versatility. Kevin Durant scored a career-high last week and is having arguably the best month of his career, but it still wasn’t enough to eclipse LeBron for the top spot on the ladder. Read More »
