Anything is possible in the National Basketball Association. On any given night a team can pull out an upset victory, David Stern can fine you for something you didn’t even say or a superstar can be traded for pennies on the dollar. For the most part we don’t know what General Managers and team executives are thinking. The general NBA fan has the common sense to know when a front office decision is a bad move. For instance everyone knew when Isiah Thomas signed Jerome James to his ridiculous contract that it was unwarranted. It is knee jerk reactions like that which create the special group of NBA players called the Untradeables. Read More »
Watching the Suns-Clipper game on Christmas Night was interesting to say the least. As the Suns pulled away the announcers went on a number of tangents and were obviously annoyed by every timeout. The announcers just wanted to get home for Christmas and watching Steve Nash dissect the Clippers was keeping them from that. During one of their many 4th quarter side comments one of the announcers began talking about how Nash is not only a great point guard but a great break dancer too. The ESPN research department dug up this video from the summer of 2008 produced by Steve Nash and Baron Davis (aka Boom-Nasty Productions) to back up his statement.

Two days ago I asked for everyone’s favorite dunk of the decade. I spoke highly about two Vince Carter dunks, saying they were the only two I would consider in the running to be my favorite. Then the comments began to roll in. There was a ton of love for Vinsanity but some people brought up the Boom Dizzle. I completely forgot about the hurt Baron Davis rained down on Andrei Kirilenko. I sincerely apologize to Boom Dizzle for not giving him his due respect.
“Portland selects Sam Bowie, University of Kentucky”
That is where most NBA fans think the Trail Blazers big man woes began, when they selected Kentucky center Sam Bowie over a guard from the University of North Carolina. The big man curse however, stems from a draft 10 years early, in 1974. Read More »
As the decade comes to a close, it seems like everywhere you look there is a best of the 2000s list. Even I was guilty of producing a best of list when listed best rookies of the decade. Don’t worry, this isn’t a best of list, I am simply asking which dunk from the last decade is your favorite? It doesn’t have to be the best dunk of the last ten years, just the one you will remember most. Maybe it is your favorite player dunking over your least favorite player or maybe it’s a dunk you experienced live. Tell us which dunk is your favorite, why it is your favorite and provide a YouTube link (if you can find one) in the comment section. Read More »
One of the main storylines of this young NBA season is the battle for 2010 Rookie of the Year between Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans. If these two rooks avoid the rookie wall and maintain their current production (Evans 20 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 5.1 apg and Jennings 20.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 6.2 apg) we will use their rookie season as a measuring stick for incoming rookies for the next decade.
When looking at the past decade, I wondered which player’s Rookie season stood out the most, which rookie could be considered the rookie of the decade? Below is my ’00s All Rookie Team. Read More »
