Would You Vote Gregg Popovich For President?

Pop For President

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich might be our favorite coach in the NBA. With the increasing gridlock in Washington and a polarizing political climate in America as both Democrats and Republicans continue to scream at each other, a lot of things can be lost amid the din. Perhaps that’s why a recently spotted “Pop For President” bumper sticker appeals so much to us. Read More »

‘Melo Says No One Will Want To Play For Hawks After Ferry’s Deng Comments

Carmelo Anthony

We’ve alluded to this problem before even as the Hawks continue to keep GM Danny Ferry in his leadership position after his inappropriate comments about Luol Deng came to light. Now Carmelo Anthony tells ESPN New York’s Ian Begley the controversy means there aren’t likely to be many free agents who want to sign with Atlanta, yet another sign Ferry should make his indefinite leave of absence permanent. Rudy Gay Fractures Jaw, Still Livid Over “Dirty Play”

Rudy Gay

During USA Basketball‘s 96-68 evisceration of Lithuania in the FIBA World Cup semifinal game on Thursday, Rudy Gay wasn’t as excited about moving on to Sunday’s gold medal game as some of his teammates. That’s because he got socked in mouth during a drive mid-way through the third quarter, fracturing his jaw and probably requiring a root canal. Gay said afterwards it was a “dirty play.” Read More »

Pistons big man Andre Drummond has spent the majority of the FIBA World Cup watching from the bench. That’s what makes his trick shot after practice yesterday such a good illustration of the talent on Team USA. Read More »

Luol Deng, Kyle Korver

Embattled Hawks GM Danny Ferry has maintained all along that he was merely a conduit when he read aloud a racist scouting report about Luol Deng for Hawks minority owners, including one, Michael Gearon Jr., who wanted him gone. The line, “he’s got a little African in him,” was purportedly found in a report from the Cavaliers’ front office, but Ferry still ad-libbed a lot of his bigoted polemic. Read More »

Video: #TBT High School Nick Young Dunks From FT Line

Nick Young

There are a lot things you can say about Lakers gunner Nick Young. He’s equal parts the pied piper of the NBA and the lovable goof with a gorgeous girlfriend and a lack of embarrassment that’s refreshing in this day and age. One thing you can’t say about him, though, is that he can’t sky. As a recent Instagram upload shows, it’s been that way since he was a teenager. Read More »

Video: Joakim Noah Flubs First Pitch, But Nails Second

Joakim Noah

Bulls center Joakim Noah was at Comiskey Park earlier this week to throw out of the ceremonial first pitch. Hoping to avoid the indignity of some previous first pitches by NBA players, Noah warmed up in the bowels of the stadium before coming out. Except, it still took a bounce before going wide of the catcher… Read More »

Watch DeMarcus Cousins Scare Jonas Valanciunas

Jonas Valanciunas, DeMarcus Cousins

The USA cruised past Lithuania in the FIBA World Cup semifinals yesterday, 96-68, and it got a little feisty after the game concluded. Before Coach K did his Van Gundy impression, though, DeMarcus Cousins came very close to slugging Lithuanian and Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas and undoing all the good will he’s engendered during his first international tournament.
