Report: Nets Likely To Trade Or Buyout Andrei Kirilenko

Andrei Kirilenko, Travis Wear

Remember when Andrei Kirilenko turned down what would have been more than $10 million in his final year in Minnesota to sign a two-year deal for what was a mini mid-level exception in Brooklyn? Yeah, the NBA even investigated — and cleared — claims of corruption because Kirilenko shares the same heritage as Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov. Now it seems like he’s close to gone from BK and the New York Post‘s Tim Bontemps claims the Nets will either trade AK-47 or just buy him out. Read More »

Derrick Rose

Last night Derrick Rose again sat out a Bulls game — he’s missed seven of Chicago’s first 12 games (sad face emoticon) — while his team got crushed by the freight train known as DeMarcus Cousins. Despite wearing a suit on the sidelines, video surfaced of D-Rose taking a kids Bulls jersey before heading to the locker-room prompting some to speculate he stole the kid’s shirt. Read More »

GIF: DeMarcus Cousins Threads The Needle In Another Kings Win

DeMarcus Cousins

The Kings keep rolling and we couldn’t be happier for the people of Sacramento, who have waited more than a decade for a semi-return to prominence. They were even slated in to a national TV slot last night when they defeated the Bulls, 103-88, behind 22 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and one steal and block for DeMarcus Cousins. Rookie K.J. McDaniels’ Mom On Sixers: “Yes They Are Tanking F**king Over My Son”

K.J. McDaniels

The Philadelphia 76ers are 0-11 to start the season and it’s getting so bad some people think a dominant college program could beat them in a seven-game series (they can’t). Second round pick (No. 32 overall) K.J. McDaniels has been along for Philly’s awful opening ride in his first experience as an NBA player. But things might be getting a whole lot worse for the rook after his mom took to Twitter last night without a filter to lament her son’s lost season. Read More »

Nike Vetos Tribute Sneaker After Iverson Objects

Nike Zoom Flight 96 Allen Iverson Tribute

For his entire career, Allen Iverson has been sponsored by Reebok. The iconic Question and Answer lines owed most of their popularity to AI’s ability to equate his on-court brilliance with off-court popularity. Nike was going to release the Nike Zoom Flight iteration commemorating the 1996 Draft class, and Iverson got his own tongue-in-cheek commemorative shoe. Well, AI didn’t take kindly to his likeness being used by a competitor and so Nike will not offer the Nike Zoom Flight 96 to the public. Read More »

Stan Van Gundy

It wasn’t just Markieff Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who got into it last night during the Suns-Pistons game. It seems Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy and forward Josh Smith had a verbal altercation when J Smoove was subbed out with a few minutes left in the third quarter. He did not return in the 88-86 Suns win. Read More »

Markieff Morris Says Caldwell-Pope Missed The Game-Winner Because “He Doesn’t Have Any Heart”

Markieff Morris, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

It started when Markieff Morris and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope got into a face-to-face jawing match midway through the second quarter of last night’s Suns-Pistons game. It ended when Caldwell-Pope missed what would have been a game-winning three-pointer with a second left on the clock and Morris claimed afterwards he wasn’t worried about Caldwell-Pope’s open look because “he doesn’t have any heart.” Read More »
